This is the volcanic eruption in Iceland today. A two and a half mile long fissure was created and lava was shooting up to over 300 ft in the air. The good news is the lava is Flowing away from the nearby town and away from the nearby power plants.
They expect it to subside quite a bit tomorrow and they are also expecting the event to last a week to 10 days.
There had been many earthquakes recently so the town has been evacuated for a few weeks in anticipation of an eruption.
