Students at Broadwater Elementary School each receive six free books Libraries give kids wonder, curiosity, and a love of learning. The Scripps Howard Fund gives kids the opportunity to create their own libraries at home.

Learning time in Benton Avenue Cemetery.
Two students discovered that a shelf had been bumped and was wobbly. So they fixed it because I pointed out that they were fully capable. In the fixing, they noticed a material they hadn’t seen before. After completing it, they were so proud, the class was invited to view their work. Thus, a ‘problem’ was a great learning opportunity.
