Cub Scout Pack 557, Sarver, Pennsylvania.
Cub Scout Pack 557 located in Sarver, Pennsylvania.
It may have been a super hot long week with 17-21 wolves (age 7) but in the end to see all their smiles was worth it. I hope they have so many memories from these days. I enjoyed my kiddos so much this week. We had many ups and downs but I am so proud of these kiddos. From ones who didn’t want to shot at all, to having so much more confidence by day 4 was so rewarding to see. I had one kiddo that was so scared to shot BB and archery that wound up getting a bullseye and was crying happy tears to being confident to shot with no holding back on day 4 that he popped the balloon with no problem. I had a few faces that I remembered from last year and it was great to add many more this year. I’m hoping they ALL return next year.
Day 4 of Cub Scout day camp. They didn’t want it to be over and I heard many “I’m not ready to go home”. They learned about fire safety and how to make fire, planted a succulent, shot at balloons at archery, shot at cracker at BB. We had a few kiddos get top shot and most points for the week. I missed a couple of our kiddos and a couple already went home. So proud of these kiddos. It may have been a LONG hot week but seeing all their smiles is worth it.
Day 3 for Cub Scout day camp was a little cooler, until late afternoon. Thank goodness the rain held off until after camp!
Day 2 was HOT HOT HOT!!!!! The scouts still had a great time and learned how to properly take care of flag and how a horse shoer does his job. He even made a horse shoe so they could see how that was done. They panned for “gold” and “gems”. Let’s not forget BB and archery!
Day 1 of Cub Scout day camp went great. Extremely HOT but the kids enjoyed themselves. Of course the pool was the favorite part!

It was a great time camping with pack 211. They shot BB, went swimming, enjoyed skits and songs at the campfire, made “armpit” fudge, played gaga ball, went on a 1 mile hike, and made many memories. So glad we get to be a part of these great adventures.
These scouts had a pleasant easy 1.5 mile hike today. They had fun playing on all the exercise equipment. The weather wasn’t the best for the splash pad and they only lasted about 20 minutes in the water but they still had fun. Thankfully they had the playground to play on as well. And a huge thankful to Henry’s mom who bought us pizza for lunch.
These kiddos marched in the Memorial Day Parade today. Super proud of these young men.
Jonathan was hanging out with the drivers of the monster trucks.
Some scouts had a great time tonight at the monster trucks at lernerville tonight. Didn’t get a picture of everyone that went but it was a blast. They loved watching them do their tricks. A few of us even got to ride on the monster truck.
Scouts worked hard all year with hiking. There reward was some time to play down at the stream. They had pizza, donated by the Allen family, and ice cream with some different toppings. They enjoyed watching The Sandlot and donuts in the morning.
These scouts did an amazing thing tonight by helping put up flags for veterans. Thank you gentleman!
Then they went to “Frogwarts” and learned about potions, the dark arts, herbology, and talked to the seer.
Let’s not forget about shooting sports (BB, archery and slingshot). Didn’t get any pics from BB too busy rounding up the kids at the other two spots while battling the rain.
Then they learned about “magical creatures” and got to pet some really cute goats and sit on a saddle.
Even with the rain it was such a great time at “Frogwarts” school of magic with cubscout council this weekend. Here was our Wizard games. Wizard checkers and Quidditch (which they didn’t quite understand at first but then had some fun).
An awesome night for our cubscout family camp. I’ve never seen this before and the kids were amazed.
Another great 2 mile hike today with the scouts. We learned about Autumn Olive bushes and saw some wild geraniums. And of course LOTS of mud lol.
Indulge in a delightful treat while contributing to a good cause! Don’t miss this fantastic event happening tomorrow. Cub scouts and Kona Ice have joined hands to offer you a mouth-watering experience that is sure to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Had a great time on our hike with the scouts. 2 more miles down. Way to go kiddos! They had fun on the rocks and crossing the water. Maverick helped a fish that was stuck and they learned about mayapple, trillium, and rue anemone plants.
Another great 2.5 mile hike. Cooler weather and a lot less mud this time. They saw a racoon out, learned about a birch tree (thanks Mike) and skunk cabbage.

The scouts and families had a great time fishing tonight. Thanks to Concordia for allowing us to use their pond.
Got a 2.5 mile hike down today. With all the rain the trail was extremely muddy, but it seemed like most of the scouts didn’t care. And they learned about a new plant called Helmet Skullcap. The sun was a little brutal and not much protection yet. Can’t wait until the trees are covered in leaves.
Went for a 1 mile hike and learned some bike safety. It was so great to get out.
Had a great Easter party with the cub scouts. They went on a hike to follow a map and find eggs, learned how to put up a tent, and learned how tying knots can help them make a rope. Plus had a tug a war game and just ran around and had some fun. Ended the night with a movie and sleepover. I was so worried all week with all this rain we’ve been having but we had the best day ever.
