This past weekend we played for Ivy Hall Events at a Celtic wedding. The venue is located in Spring Hill and has a page. Check it out. This is our 4th event with Robert and Jamie Aubery and their family. We played fortheir son Dalton's 1930 theme wedding and this was their son Reese's Celtic theme wedding. The video is of Reese and Camilia setting the fire with Bows and arrows. Reese missed and Camilia made it spark!

We were booked by one of our benefactors for a Celtic wedding nearly a year ago. We are truly sorry if you’re disappointed. However we will play the Otter Springs Dance in January.

By the way, the pics are from the Wild West Fest in Aiken,
SC. We were locked up along with Emily, the Dance Mistress. The other gent was Timothy, a new friend from the area.

We are packing up for a dance this Saturday night in Wauchula, FL. Then look for us at the 160th Chickamauga Saturday night dance on September 23,2023. Well be missing Don and his fiddle but Craig will keep the tempo up on the mandolin with Tim holding the bottom down on the box bass and Emily-Jane calling dances. Drop by and give us a wave and a great big howdy.

08/08/2023

The band is wrapping up a very busy 2023. Between personal activities and band events, our calendar is closed for the year. The Lord blessed us with a busy and challenging schedule in 2023 and as we finish this season, we are stretching with new genre's and time periods. The home-school dances are absolutely a blast with the young people keeping our Dance Mistress, Emily-Jane, on her toes. Aside from the normal (if you can call them that) reenactments, we have another old time western event and the newest opportunity, providing entertainment and dancing for a Celtic Wedding. The pressure is on Craig and Don to carry the melodies of our new repetroires but they are totally up to that challenge. Tim amd Joe have only to learn the new lyrics, something much easier than learning the melodies on the mandolin and fiddle. We are truly blessed and thankful for our benefactors for trusting this jolly band of believers, and the gifting of talents and favor that only come from the Father of Lights. Hope to see you this Fall. Go with God.

Cameron Wolfe on Twitter “Dr. Timothy Pritts said last night Damar Hamlin woke up, followed commands & asked who won the game via writing. Pritts adds that he has not talked yet because he is still on breathing tube. Docs response to Q of who won the game was “yes, you’ve won. You’ve the game of life.””

The Bacon Gang Rides Again! Having to be low key, this notorious band is playing private parties in secluded venues in hopes of avoiding the Federales. This week in an undisclosed location, truthfully the band will entertain at a private party. The following week on Saturday, January 14, 2023, we will be playing the Frolic and Dance for The Raid at Otter Springs. Come out and join us for some reels, polkas and waltzes.

This week has not been one to celebrate. Three of our friends passed within days of each other. Tim's brother-in-law Tony Parrish, our "Cookie" in the cow camp, Bob Goodrich from Hardy's Brigade Staff, and Rick Moock (pictured) from the 97th Regimental String Band. Without question, Rick is the most colorful character I have ever met. Never without a clever quip, Rick, MarkLuce (Mad-dog) and a variety of other 3rd players, including our own Craig, introduced me to the world of Civil War music. A friend of mine asked me once at a performance several years ago, "Doing you 97th Reginmental Set today?" Well, there aren't many songs that you can play from that period that the 97th had not recorded. Thanks for the inspiration Rick.
