While the first day of school is a milestone worth celebrating, it’s important to prioritize safety in your social media posts. Those adorable chalkboards featuring your child’s name, age, teacher, and favorite things can unintentionally provide valuable information to predators, scammers, and bullies. To keep your celebrations safe:

• Limit Personal Information: Avoid sharing identifying details such as teacher names, school names, and your child’s favorite activities.
• Neutral Backgrounds: Ensure that the background of your photos doesn’t reveal any location information, like addresses or landmarks.
• Selective Sharing: Take multiple pictures – some for social media and others for sharing privately with close family and friends through texts or direct messages.

Predators often gather and use personal information from social media to build profiles and establish relationships with children and families. Despite what you believe about your privacy settings, sharing on social media can expose your information to a broader audience than intended.

This class is free for students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade to attend. Each week we'll learn new artistic techniques and ideas with different projects, while also giving them a creative outlet to express themselves!

Please be aware, that if you have any plans or vacations scheduled during these weeks that's okay! Kids do not need to attend every week to participate.

If you have any questions, or think your child will be interested in joining us please email [email protected] to get them registered!

Today we celebrate FREEDOM!

Juneteenth is a significant date in American history and the African American experience. The name is a play on the date of June 19th, 1865. On that day, the Union Army made its way into Galveston, TX under the leadership of General Gordon Granger, and he announced to the people of Texas that all enslaved African Americans were free.

If you’d like to learn more about Juneteenth, or want to celebrate with us, join us Saturday at the Juneteenth Jubilee !
