Christmas in July special on my instructional video.
Fresh off my easel a 20”x24” oil on canvas panel.
“The Pearl 2”
These paintings seem to remain as ever changing. But going to sign it.
A 12”x16” plein air I did yesterday. One image is my painting using one of the frames my brother makes. The other image is just the painting, so you get to see better color and detail. I’m loving these new frames he’s been making for me! . https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075166924579&mibextid=LQQJ4d
I love being outdoors fishing or painting. It’s just a hard choice to make at times.
Just about finished with this big one. It’s somewhere around 88” across and over 55” high. I forget the exact dimensions. I already have a frame for it.
My study for the large stretched canvas. I’m going to do a few more before going to that huge canvas.
Yesterday class demo. Not the best photo but best I can do with my phone. The scene is from Yellowstone National Park. 16”x20” oil on a rayma canvas panel. I originally painted it plein air, between fly fishing locations. 😎
Looking west into Glacier National Park above Medicine Bow Lake. 16”x20” oil on Raymar canvas panel.
Thank you Clint Bova for the expertly made flies. It was a pleasure meeting at my show in Lebanon! I look forward to using those while fishing with you!
I’m ready!
The faces of our 2024 Plein Air Artists! These artists are not only from across the country, but also across the globe. We are so excited to have these nationally acclaimed artist join us in Great Smoky Mountains National Park this fall. I’ve been spending a lot of time preparing for this showing of my landscape oil paintings. I’m finally ready and looking forward to it. This show is 27 all Ohio scenes, some studio, some plein air, meaning painted on location from life.
I am excited and honored to announce that I am going back to the Smokies this year!
“Trout Live in Beautiful Places” 11”x14” oil on canvas panel. Framed in a hand carved frame by myself. Not something I normally do but it’s definitely a one of a kind. The painting is of myself fishing the Gallatin River in Montana.
A 11”x14” oil on canvas panel I did this afternoon. Yep, that’s me fly fishing.
I recently revisited this painting. If they stay in the studio for long time, they sometimes get put back up on the easel. I decided to experiment with paint applications in order to bring more interest to my painting.
A portrait of my friend Jonathan. I’m honored to paint this for this Godly man. His story is amazing! And yes I paint portraits and figures. lol
Another demo started during class last Tuesday. 12”x16” oil on canvas panel The barn is located in southern Ohio, and I instantly attracted to it.
“Winter Shadows” 16”x12” oil on canvas panel
NO I DO NOT DO NFT’s!
A 16”x20” demonstration from Tuesday’s class. The scene was from the trip Ann and I took to Hocking Hills.
Again it’s difficult to get a good picture of my painting.
A head study I started yesterday and finished today. 16”x20” oil on canvas.
“Roxanne”
I don’t do a lot of commissions but this was a fun one to do. There is a lot of stuff made up and or manipulated in it.
24”x16” oil on canvas wood panel.
Absolutely yes
Art, God, and Beauty - Realism Today Contemporary Realism Artist Michael Klein on "... the importance of understanding myself and my art in relation to God."
“Sunset at Andersons Ferry” 12”x16” oil on canvas panel.
I blocked a person called Grayson Finn. I believe he is a scammer of sorts. Be careful
