Halstead International drives the marketing and manufacturing innovations that are behind DIYGenius.
In support of our ongoing efforts to protect the environment, Halstead International is one of the first companies in the international vinyl flooring industry to use its own recycled flooring in the production of its new Allure products. New Allure products now have no less than 15 percent recycled, known-origin content. As part of our long-standing commitment to protecting the environment, Halst
ead had traditionally used about 25 percent post-consumer recycled vinyl in the manufacture of Allure. However, the recycled material may have come from unknown origins. Using known-origin products in the manufacturing of new flooring is a more environmentally responsible business practice. Recycling content of known origin is better for the environment, cleaner and safer. It leaves less chance for impurities to find their way into the recycling materials, helps to relieve landfill space by diverting used product away from the landfill, and also saves on the use of precious resources.”
Halstead’s goal is to lead an industry-wide move to this closed-loop, cradle-to-cradle recycling process.
