There are many reasons to feel everything but joy at this time of year. Our problems do not go on holiday break and can feel exaggerated during this time. There are many affecting dynamics and some people are dealing with multiple.
😒Marriage relationship struggles
😢Physical illness
😖Divorce and co-parenting
😔Financial hardship
💔Loss of loved one(s)
😏Loss of an ideal loved one/i.e. relations with a toxic parent, sibling or child
😞Mental illness

What can you do to care for yourself in your not-so-jolly-state?
👉Lower your standards of yourself.
❤️You don't have to be the one who _________'s this time. You don't have to __________ at all.
(Most of us can place many verbs in those blanks!)
👉Accept yourself as you are right now.
❤️Your feelings are valid. Your problems are real.
👉Focus only on what YOU can control.
❤️ We can not control others. We can not control the universe. We can (gently and kindly) control ourselves. So, make a list of your worries and then mark through everything that is outside of your control. What is left, is for you to sit with, be with, accept, plan to change, grieve, or something else.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
It was a long and intense physical, mental, spiritual, & emotional journey to attain my Shadow Work®️certifications. Don't stay blocked from your superpower. You don't have to live that way.
It's a pretty common desire -
PEACE.
We love the feeling it gives us to have it within ourselves. But all the other energies we experience are equally valuable. In fact, peace would not even be identifiable if we did not experience the contrast.
Often people will fight the "negative" energies and attempt to swat them away like annoying flies. But just as often, that annoying feeling will persist and we end up with a mess of real life consequences.
One practice I teach is the art of communicating with these negative energies in a way that serves you and your end goal of peace.
We can learn to actively listen to it's warnings, anger, fears, grief and wisdom. We can learn to accept this part and offer it kindness, appreciation over resistance, and love. When we practice this form of self-care, our "negative" energy transforms into something oh so wonderful. Maybe even peaceful.

Ways to know your mind, body, spirit are in need of such supportive space:

Anyone else get bit by their expectations of themselves or others?
We create standards that seem always out of reach. And, when this gets too painful, we cope by lowering our expectations so far down, we become hopeless and unmotivated.
One solution is to tap into your PURPOSE FOR BEING even more. When we realize that each action we take can be aligned with our purpose, there is a natural letting go and an incredible amount of freedom.
Athletes display a spiritual principle for me.
The way they show up on game day is a reflection of how they've shown up for practice. They work the muscles they want to utilize in specific and exact ways in practice. They spend a majority of time on the basics, the simple moves.
In a confidential, safe, and sacred virtual "work out room," my clients practice new ways of caring for themselves, new energies, new neural pathways, and the results show up in their own personal "game days."
If the time is now, take the risk. It might turn out the way you fear, or it might NOT. You might actually get to experience what it is you desire most.
We have over 60k thoughts every day! That's A LOT of noise!
I personally felt confused, mind-cluttered, distracted, & generally imbalanced with all that commotion. I did not know that this babble was there for a higher purpose. It was there to serve me and help me serve the world more effectively.
When I came to know the origin and meaning of each one, I would have access to my own personal agency and intimacy. I would find myself, and I would come to genuinely love and trust her.
We are hard-wired for intimacy with others. But, we come to that closeness by way of authentically knowing ourSELF.
Sounds simple. We know we would have more internal peace if we could authentically forgive. But, simple does not always mean easy. Sometimes the simplest of things are the hardest. So hard, we need some help.

Every time I wrestle with authentically forgiving someone who has harmed me, my biggest block ALWAYS comes back to my own unwillingness to forgive MYSELF.

Sometimes, I am my biggest bully. I abuse myself with continual thought patterns of regret, despair, "not-enoughness," & standards that are too high for any human being to reach.

Seasons of rest sometimes comes with boredom, restlessness, or depression. They can also be full of visioning, spiritual practices, and the intentional letting go of what does not serve us.
My experience tells me the seasons of growth, which follows each rest, are directly impacted by how my mind and spirit engage with that time of rest.
