Guy-Yo Poker Club (GYPC) is a promotional company for our host venues. They pay GYPC to host fun and FREE entertainment by holding Texas Hold’em tournaments to promote business for their venues. In keeping it fun and free, GYPC has a few guidelines we expect our players to follow. Most of all, we are all here to have fun. Always keep that in mind when playing at our venues.
All players MUST be courteous and respectful to all other players and employees of the host venue. Be especially nice to our servers. Management will always ask them how it is going. If they do not enjoy having us, they will let it be known to management and we could be asked not to return. So always be nice and take care of our servers. Many times, servers will come by a table to take orders and players are so involved in a hand they don’t notice. Then, when the hand is over, they look around and grump about needing a server. Remember they are taking care of 30 -50 players or more. Give them a break. If you are truly feeling neglected, talk to the Tournament Director (TD).
All players should support GYPC by welcoming new players when they join us. DO NOT embarrass the club in front of new players by being rude, angry, drunk, etc. If you do, you will not be invited back. If a new player is any of those things or breaks any of our rules, they too will not be invited back.
Players WILL NOT, at any time, belittle another player or their playing style. You will run into all types of players in a FREE Game. At the same time, GYPC will not tolerate players who try to get into another player's head, or think this is the World Series of Poker. GYPC doesn’t mind competition. However, we will not tolerate someone taking it to extremes. WE ARE HERE TO HAVE FUN!
You DO NOT want to receive any extra chips/tokens you have not earned. Doing so is cheating and will get you banned if caught doing so. If you are not sure, ask. Ignorance will not be accepted as an excuse.
Once you are out of the tournament, please sign out. If you forget to sign out, DO NOT go back and sign out later. You are messing with other players points. It is the TD’s responsibility to sign all players in. It is each player’s responsibility to sign out.
GYPC Tournaments are designed to be fun and to promote business for our host venues. GYPC is a business itself and the way to grow it is by making sure it is a fun and friendly game. As a player, your job is to have fun and patronize the venue.

13. If the player in the Small Blind is eliminated then the dealer button will move to the empty seat. Players will post blinds as normal. This is the ‘dead button rule’.
14. If the Big Blind is eliminated, the Small Blind position is dead and only the Big Blind is posted.
15. We only re-deal for the button when consolidating for the final table or combining tables.
16. At the beginning of the tournament, the dealer button will be decided by the first ace or high card.

28. If a player isn't at the table in time to take their turn, the dealer may muck that player’s cards.
29. No electronic devices allowed at the table. All phone calls must be taken away from the table.
30. All players must sign out immediately upon leaving the tournament or lose any possible points.
31. No swearing at or belittling of other players. Doing so will get you removed from the tournament.
32. If GYPC believes you are drunk and causing problems, you will be asked to leave.
33. GYPC has the right to ask any player creating tension/trouble to leave. This is the ‘A-Hole rule’.
34. Receiving chips you have not earned is cheating and will get you banned.
35. Do not look at anyone’s mucked cards or look in the muck pile for your cards.
36. Players caught colluding or cheating will be banned.
37. If a player shows a card in live play on purpose, it’s a fold.
38. Support your host venues, they make this possible.
Guy-Yo Poker Club Extra Chips
Guy-Yo Poker Club hosts FREE Texas Hold’em tournaments at various venues throughout the week. These venues pay GYPC to bring in our FREE Tournaments and to help promote their venues. We do this by offering several ways to earn extra chips for our weekly tournaments.
To help promote our venues and to keep playing our FREE tournaments, GYPC offers extra chips to our players who visit our venues on an off-poker night. Anytime a player visits one of our host venues on an off-poker night and spends monies, they should save their receipt. The player can then turn the receipt into the TD before the tournament starts for extra chips. For every $10 spent, the player will receive 1,000 in chips. You may also earn extra chips by getting to one of our tournaments early and eating/drinking before play. Once the tournament begins, you may get more chips by buying food/drink until the blinds have reached 5,000/10,000. At that point, no more food/drink chips will be given out.
We know not all players have the time or money to spend to acquire these extra chips. GYPC has a few ways a player may earn extra chips at no/minimal cost. GYPC posts all its EVENTS on Facebook. By responding “GOING” at least an hour prior to the tournament they are going to attend, they will receive an extra 500 in chips. Please take advantage of this. Other players like to know who is coming and TDs need to know how many players are coming in order to set up for the tournament. If a wait list is created, it will be first come first play. If a player shows up 20 minutes early to a tournament, they will receive 500 in chips. If you have Host gear (Guy-Yo Card Protector) you will receive 500 in chips and only 500 in chips. If a player becomes a V.I.P. Member (see V.I.P. Membership for more info), they will receive a maximum of 6,000 extra chips at every weekly tournament they play in.
GYPC has one player/dealer per table. In order to compensate them, GYPC gives them 6,000 in extra chips at the beginning of the tournament. Dealers may receive 2 wooden tokens for dealing if they are a V.I.P. Member. They MUST tell the TD before start. Dealers will deal until relieved. If you would like to be a dealer, you must talk to the TD. It is first ask first to deal, unless several ask prior to 15 minutes before the tournament. Then it is the TD’s discretion. GYPC has a designated shuffler per table. Shufflers receive 500 in extra chips at beginning of tournament and at each break. If more than one player wishes to shuffle, dealer will deal/draw high card for both at beginning and at each break. If shuffler is knocked out, the player who knocked them out will resume that player’s shuffling responsibilities for the remainder of the hour.
GYPC tournaments are free to play. A player never has to spend any money to play in a tournament. All players start off with 1,500 in chips. A player may earn up to an additional 6,000 in chips to begin the tournament. After the tournament begins, a player may earn additional chips by eating/drinking until blinds are at 5,000/10,000. At that point, no more food/drink chips will be given out.

V.I.P. Membership
Any player can become a GYPC V.I.P. Member by paying dues of $20 per month or $100 for 6 months. V.I.P. Members get chipped up to the maximum chip count at the beginning of every weekly tournament if they RSVP and show up on time. V.I.P. Members who are late will receive 3,000 on top of the starting chip stack. V.I.P. Members receive double points on quad hands or better. In addition to the weekly tournaments, a monthly tournament is held specifically for V.I.P. Members.
Points Breakdown
Each month, point leaders from each venue will receive a $25 gift card. Points are awarded for each weekly tournament based on the number of players that play in that event. In other words, the more people who play, the greater the points awarded. Points are awarded approximately to half of the field at every tournament (excluding V.I.P. and seasonal events). Points are awarded for large hands of quads or better as follows:
Quads= 25 points, V.I.P. = 50 points
Straight Flush = 50 points, V.I.P. = 100 points
Royal Flush = 100 points, V.I.P. = 200 points
GYPC hosts seasonal events. Starting stacks for these events are dependent upon seasonal point totals.
Additionally, each player receives one knock-out chip at the beginning of each weekly tournament. Each knock-out chip is worth 10 points. When a player takes out another player, that player receives a single knock-out chip, not other knock-out chips accumulated by the player taken out. For example, if you take out 4 people, you receive 40 points. It is the player’s responsibility to note knock-out points on the sign out sheet. The only player that receives points for their own knock-out chip is the winner of the tournament.
Points and signing out at each weekly event are important!
