Canistota School District

The Canistota School District is looking for a long term first grade substitute teacher or special education paraprofessional from August 12, 2024 through October 22, 2024. If you are interested or have any additional questions, please reach out to Jamie Miller at 605-296-3458.

The Summer Reading Program starts on Monday, June 3rd at 9:00am. All children can enter the building through the office doors.

This year we will be using the Sway platform for objective balance and cognitive testing. This will be replacing the former Impact testing. Our trainer from the Orthopedic Institute will be here on June 5th at 9:00 AM to conduct these tests. There will be another opportunity later, yet to be determined, for those who can’t make this date.

I've attached three PDFs that have information about the Sway program. 7th-12th grade athletes for the 2024-2025 MUST complete this before practicing for their sport. If a student doesn’t have a device to take the test on, they can use a friend’s device when they are done.

Congratulations to Natalee Hofer for placing 8th in the High Jump and to Jaden Kleinsasser for placing 8th in the discus today at the State Track Meet in Sioux Falls!

Congratulations to Natalie Becker, Ellia Hjermstad, Emma Sandman, and Allison Leber on breaking the girls 4x100 Relay school record on day one of the State Track Meet, running it in a time of 52.8! They finished the prelims in 9th place, just missing the finals. They had previously set the record in 2023 with a time of 53.23
