She wasn’t part of our Brew Crew very long, but she was a part of it and her time here mattered! She had exactly one short training shift with me in May before her and I worked together to scoop over 100 cones for a school that was taking a field trip to Trowbridge Zoo! We had a shared love of live music and I was probably just as excited for her to go to Red Rocks Ampitheater as she was to go. I knew she would love it! Most of my barista’s summer time off requests are for fun lake days, shopping, family time, weddings, vacations (as they should be!) but Courtney’s were for infusions, chemo treatments and brain surgeries. She fought hard. So damn hard. I don’t think any kid should have to fight cancer. It’s just not fair. Courtney passed away yesterday, February 26th, and if you were lucky enough to know her, you are feeling the loss immensely. Her sarcastic wit paired with a great sense of humor made for enjoyable shifts at the coffee shop. She was super smart and sweet, but not afraid to tell it like it is. She will be missed. From our whole Otter Coffee Crew, we are sending our condolences to Courtney’s friends and family.
