Providing a full range of services from setups to structural repairs since 1995.

A little TLC goes a long way!!!
Another busy Friday, but I’m making progress!! Best thing about working from home is how much more efficiently I can work!!
A few of the day’s projects. Lots of big structural jobs going on!!
Finished up the fretless conversion!!
Burning some midnight oil tonight, at 8:00, that is!! Have to say, this winter has not been as hard on wooden instruments due to the mild winter we’ve had. I’m grateful for that!!
Converting to a fretless neck!
Been so busy, I just don’t have the time to keep up with social media. So this is a small sample of some of the many recent projects I’m working on. I will do better about sharing some interesting projects soon when I can come up for air!!
Grandpa’s violin restoration
Another one bites the dust, or does it? The classic fall off the guitar stand.
Late night binding repair. These Martins from this era really come loose a lot. Tricky work, as the adhesive from the tape can burn into the finish. This was a new approach advised by Martin’s shop, and even though it was difficult to find the appropriate product, eventually I got it. Finally had the chance to get after it, and an hour later the tape was off. One of the secrets is using the green automotive 3M tape, which I clearly did not use here. With the cure time, I knew it wouldn’t be an issue. You just never stop learning when you’re passionate about what you do, no matter how experienced you are.
Transforming a Tele!
Nothing like shiny new frets!!
Finished up a refret on this 40 year old Yamaha FG-335II this morning. Lots of love in this fretboard!!
A few of today’s projects!
Keep those instruments humidified!! We are not out of the woods yet!! With orchestral instruments, fingerboards pop off as a result of dryness. The expansion and contraction differs in different species of wood. That’s what happened here. Seam separation is also very common. Love your instrument as you would love yourself is a good motto to follow. Take care of them, and they will take care of you!!
Frets, neck resets, and more frets!!
Another oops, that’s a bummer!
Harmony ‘faux’ resonator
PRS Custom 22 mods
Accidents do happen!!
Final steps of a crack repair
Step 3 of a crack repair
Step 2 of a crack repair
Step one of fixing an unfortunate fall!!
The Fatcaster is finally complete! Many hours were put in by myself and the owner of this one of a kind guitar!
After countless hours of scraping binding and replacing the heel cap, this one of finally a wrap!! Replacing missing binding on a finished guitar turned out to be much, much more work than I expected.
