Open Excellence raises donations to support promising mental health practices, independent of industry, but not in opposition to medicine or drug therapies.
Open Excellence is the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care. Open Excellence is the fundraising and management arm of the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care, a unique community foundation of, by, and for the community of people who seek to improve mental health independent of industry influence, but not outside of medicine, necessarily. As Open Excellence, we raise donation
s to support timely, innovative programs selected by our Board of Directors, in consultation with our Scientific Advisory Council. These programs have included investigations into medication withdrawal and targeted de-prescribing strategies, peer support for voice hearers, studies of the social determinants of mental health, an upcoming forum on how discrimination and disparities affect mental health care and diagnosis, and how innovative programs including systemic family therapy, such as Open Dialogue, can improve outcomes through long-term commitments to individual and social change. As the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care, since 2011, we have been establishing and managing and Donor Advised Funds to help individual donors and groups become change makers, supporting organizations that make a difference, and introducing a standard of true excellence in mental health care for all people. No matter which way you choose to play a part in our work, as an Open Excellence donor to the annual fund, or as a Donor/ Advisor, with your own Donor Advised Fund to direct donations to organizations you select, we are here for you and the entire community of people concerned not only with improving mental health care, but who think it should be excellent. Along with you and your contributions, Open Excellence is the Foundation for Excellence in Mental Health Care.
