Hey friends ! Thank you for following my page. Allow me to introduce myself to all the new and existing followers.

I am Yakeea Lashawn & I started doing hair almost 30 years ago for my family and a few friends. I was the family hair person for some time, and I have always loved all things beauty.

I’m a mother of a 20 year old son and a 17 year old daughter.

My husband and I will be celebrating 7 years of marriage in September this year 🎉 He has been my biggest supporter as I transition my way into the beauty industry.

✅I have a Masters in Communications and Training and served for 10 years as an admissions professional in Higher Education.

✅I’m from Chicago South Suburbs.

✅ In 2017, I changed careers a bit to focus on the technologies used daily by the admissions team. I felt some burnout from the long work hours and travel in admissions . So I became the Director of Enrollment Mgmt Technology where I discovered that I love technology almost as much as doing hair! I am currently still in this role.

But I have always been the person around excited about hair and beauty. My desire to do something more than higher education led me to dig deeper to discover what I was even good at.

✅ Fast forward to 2018 ,I decided to go to cosmetology school as there was a lot of transition taking place at my job and I wanted to have a backup plan. I became a licensed cosmetologist in 2019 and it has been only up from there! I have found my true happy place! 🥰

Although running my own business can be exciting, it can also be difficult at times, but I wouldn’t trade it because I’ve always, always loved to do what I do! 💖
