We had to share some of the landscape spaces in this design concept for a project in the Denver Highland neighborhood at a larger scale.

The client is packing a lot into this large urban lot, yet the design creates a sequence of unique uses and spaces that will maximize the property for a wide variety of activities.

In December, Governor Polis released “Road Map to a Future Colorado 2026,” which focuses on housing and transportation access.

We appreciate that this plan was released at Lamar Station in Lakewood, Colorado. This housing development is an amazing example of what Polis wants to promote across the state of Colorado in a courtyard that Ivy Street designed! Those custom orange benches in the background are some of our favorites!

We share a lot of fabulous modern landscapes on social media because that is the trend, especially in Denver with residential redevelopment. It makes sense!

It is important to remember that the garden design you get is the garden design you want. If you want modern – you get modern. If traditional or naturalistic is more up your alley – we will design some beautiful concepts that speak to your aesthetic.

We even have clients who don’t have a clear vision of what they want. On all of our projects, we go through in-depth exercises of what their landscape space could be to understand better what they want and how to make their space uniquely their own.

🎊A garden is meant to be enjoyed.

Coming together with family and friends for a summer garden engagement party, we did just that!

Wendy’s backyard was the perfect setting to host an engagement party for her son and fiancé. As the founder of Ivy Street Design, Wendy’s garden has been a labor of love for many years. Having others over to enjoy a festive evening in the garden is what summer is all about!

We got progress on our Greenwood Village project!

Covering up the soil with new fresh turf certainly helped clean things up on this project! Also painting the brickwork a clean white is 🤍🤍🤍

Ivy Street is honored to help rebuild after the Marshall fire struck Louisville and Superior in December of 2022. There was 12” of soot on the ground when the landscape contractor, All Phase Landscape, started the cleanup process.

We were brought on board to develop a landscape plan with Costco and the Town of Superior that focused on fire resistance and replacing turf with more water-conserving shrubs and perennials. Costco also wanted a fun and modern design. With our new design, the Town of Superior waived the need to plant trees in the parking lot islands, given the latest research on trees planted in these conditions fail to thrive. These areas were planted with some of the showy xeric plants.

This project is a testament to how a low-water and well-maintained (thank you, again, All Phase Landscape) landscape can be beautiful, even in our dry Colorado climate. Thanks again to all the folks involved in this project for letting us do something different than the norm. It paid off and looks great!

Our other summer intern we would like to recognize is Noah Carl – you may recognize Noah from last summer. We are thrilled to have him back for a second year, working with us at Ivy Street. Noah will graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in May 2024. Having grown up in Denver, Noah has many liked places, but a favorite would be Silverthorne and the Lake Dillon area because he spent so much time there growing up and continues to spend time there with family and friends.

“This summer has been very fun, just like last summer. I definitely have been able to advance my digital rendering skills quite a bit compared to last summer, because of the new advanced programs that we are starting to use in the office!”

“I would like to pursue a career in the skatepark industry, designing skateparks. I am starting to embark on my senior capstone project in school, and will be redesigning a portion of the Los Angeles River to provide sustainable floodplain management for the city of Los Angeles during heavy weather events, as well as provide a beautiful Skatepark during times of good weather!”
