Happy Anniversary (16!) to my biggest champion in life (and biz).

This man has supported me through the highs and lows of building a business.

Since it’s conference weekend, it feels right to recognize the support has given that’s kept me in the game:

*he’s dressed up for conference (both in suit and costume 🎭)

*pushed a baby around in a stroller at last year’s conference for 3 days so I could engage in meetings w/my team

*stayed home w/the kids this year as they started school/soccer so I could fly across the country to fuel my business at this year’s conference

*provided countless hours of a listening ear to my celebrations, lamentations, frustrations, new ideas, excitement, hopes and fears. Never allowing me to waver from who I am called to be.

Thank you for being the best partner. Wouldn’t be here (literally and figuratively) without you.

Remembering my dad, Glen Selbo, this morning: he was the second player ever drafted in to the NBA. He finished his career with the Denver Nuggets. He also played professional baseball and coached at Littleton and Arapahoe High School. It was fun growing up with basketball.

When I got licensed as a life/health insurance broker, I had no idea what I was getting myself into (in the best way). Also had no idea what I was doing at first, but I’ve learned a few things along the way:

-Culture eats strategy for lunch (as Casey Watkins would say. You cannot underestimate the value of a culture that champions growth (of people over profit)
-When you combine that culture with adaptability in the face of massive economic change, industry-leading technology, and a duplicatable system, you end up in an unstoppable vehicle.

I still remember where I was when the founders of Symmetry Financial Group] announced on a call several years ago that they were designating 20% of equity in the company to be reserved for qualifying agents and corporate staff.

Grateful to be a part of the group to have received this gift in the mail last week, and celebrating the work and partnership that’s been required to get here.

This may not seem like that big of a deal, but….

I made dinner tonight. (Go ahead, you can laugh 😆)

For those of you that make dinner every night, I am truly in awe of you. When is home, I get completely spoiled by his creativity and culinary skills, and it is one of the biggest gifts to not have to think about meals.

Today is Day #1 of , and I have set some intentions to make this a touring season of not just survival mode. Not sure if I can realistically aim for “thriving”, but I’m aspiring to be closer to thriving than surviving, on the sliding scale of my life 😅

When I’m 3:1 (still not used to that!), the post-school, dinner time, witching hour rush to bath and bedtime after working all day is….a lot.

But I don’t want to wish these days away. And I know there are some (helloooo, single parents, military spouses, those caring for sick family members) that are carrying more than me.

So today, I celebrate the little wins. I made soup. 🥣 And for that, I am proud.
