Our collaborative Finalist garment in collaboration with Lana Crooks Art at World of WearableArt (WOW) 2024 Avant Garde section, The Scribe. It was breathtaking to see her brought to life on stage. Thank you to our friends and family for your encouragement and support!
She is a spirit of knowledge and balance, emerging from a pool of cosmic ink to record the deeds of each transitioning soul. Dawn and Lana noticed a common thread across many cultures and diverse mythologies that birds are deemed as otherworldly beings. An Ibis is often considered to contain divine knowledge, symbolic of balance and arbitration while a raven is considered a trickster, bringing transformation and creation. Both are synonymous with the underworld. Exploring this concept, they created a birdlike spirit personified. Using studies of real specimens, Lana sculpted representations of ibis and raven bones by folding and sewing material to shape. Dawn modified Victorian fashion silhouettes to achieve a sensual, feminine, and dominating form, incorporating Lana’s sculptural elements. In creating “The Scribe”, they chose holographic and textured latex, organic materials that move like liquid and reflect light like stars dancing across dark pools of indigo ink.

We are so excited to announce our entry Royal Emissary has placed 3rd in the Open Section at World of WearableArt (WOW) .
Her creation and journey to the stage spanned several years, and at long last she was able to take the stage. It was an absolute pleasure to see her shine at the World of WearableArt Show 2022.

A fantastic opening event for International Art and Fashion Exhibition at Gallery. What a gorgeous space and location, right in the heart of Manhattan. I’m so grateful to have been invited to showcase garments in both a fashion show and gallery installation setting. The show is open until August 8th at 1155 Avenue of the Americas.
