Here's a VERY simple discrepancy in Xactimate. A difference of $7 to remove and replace or replace a 6x4 mirror in a bathroom! Nope, not happening. That mirror is huge. Break it up? Fine! For $7 to clean debris and risk glass contamination. Simple right? this is a minor discrepancy in Xactimate.

Due to our scans and findings, we found that Roto Rooter Restoration was on track but careless after finding a sewer pe*******on, cut into the basement ceiling to expose the damage below. They caused the damaged ceiling fall, then they deemed the entire basement exposed and THEN set containment. Had it tested and was found to be asbestos free, but 900 sf carpet, pad, all furniture exposed to CAT 3 contamination. They did not pack out. As a Restoration company, do I expose the failed mitigation? Or write as a secondary with ATP swabs to ensure absence of liability? Then write the repair estimate...
