I was able to paint outside in Sedona this past week with some new friends! I am still learning what it all means, the equipment, the light and how it shifts SO FAST, getting paint on the canvas quicker. Right now, it’s an adrenaline fest from set up to finish! But, I know that I will learn so much if I keep doing uncomfortable things. There will be progress! At some point in the morning, I signed a wedding license as a witness to a young couple eloping right next to us. Cheers to new things and experiences. Thanks Hope for hosting this week!

A still life of grapes and strawberries? Yes!! Created on my kitchen table after a quick trip to the grocery store. This is not saying too much as i have only been painting for a short while but the strawberry was the hardest thing I have ever painted! 😅 I will say that it turned out so great. The grapes were my favorite part of the painting and putting on those last highlights was so satisfying. It’s a simple yet beautiful painting. It’s available for purchase on my website now! Strawberry picking season has started at Mortimers Farm 🍓 I started this painting early in the morning and racing against a storm! Two hours and two dry eyes later I got enough to head home and finish in my studio. I did take a bit of license…no sheep were in this area🐑 but they do look great hanging out under the cottonwood trees.
