Believe. Belong. Become. "The most important (commandment)," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Mark 12:29-31
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
In Pastor Danny’s sermon on Sunday, he shared many OT prophecies that Jesus fulfilled that were mentioned in the powerful passage of 1 Peter 2:1-10. Take some time to read through it in our stories. He also mentioned the 5 Solas—they pretty much speak for themselves, don’t they?! Praise God that He made a way for us through His son Jesus.
Sometimes life can feel lonely, but as Christians, we know that we are never alone. God never leaves us nor forsakes us. He tells us over and over again in the Bible: Deuteronomy 31:8, Hebrews 13:5, Joshua 1:9. ♥️ Thanks for sharing this reminder !
Wow! You guys have shown up already! 💗 Thank you to all who have already donated to our February Love project! We are collecting items for 2 more weeks and then packing the items into the donated purses on February 24th! La Grange Women, help us pack and write notes to the women of Pacific Garden Mission who will benefit not only from our display of love, but from the love and grace of Jesus that He freely gives and that we all so desperately need to accept. ♥️
Hope you’re having a great week! It’s the first day of February, AND it’s Thursday, so here are some Thoughts about God.
Have you thought about this question that Pastor Danny asked us a couple Sundays ago? If not, take some time this week to do just that. It could be that you’re sacrificing comfort or status at work, or maybe you’d prefer to fly under the radar instead of sharing your beliefs. Maybe you’ve lost friends or even have family members that avoid you because of times you’ve shared your faith. Maybe it’s simply sacrificing sleep on Sunday mornings. Whatever it is that you’re sacrificing, people will start to take notice. And whatever you do, continue to do it for the glory of the one who made you.

Let’s memorize some awesome scripture passages together this year! Starting a little late this month, but we are memorizing Romans 10:9-13 for January. Swipe to see the first 3 verses. ➡️ Save this post and refer back to it! The final 2 verses coming soon!
From Pastor Danny’s sermon on Sunday, we heard one thing very clearly: Keep pointing people to Jesus—with our lives, with our words, with our actions, with our stories about what God is doing in our lives, with all of it! Swipe to page 2 for some more takeaways from our {Letters in Black} message from last Sunday. All of our Sunday morning worship services are available to rewatch on YouTube! Just search La Grange Bible Church.
Happy Thursday! Thankful that our God is constant, unchanging, and with us always. He came as a man to save us from our sins. And the thing that’s also awesome about that, is that He understands our human experience completely. ♥️
We are bringing back our Thursday Thoughts About God series this month! Keep your thoughts on Him always. The “thoughts” in these black squares are based on Biblical truth! Here are some verses to read through that inform the thoughts from these two congregants. Psalm 46:1, James 1:17, Psalm 103:1-5, Genesis 1, Genesis 35:11, Acts 17:28, Revelation 1:8
Sunday Sermon Series: Letters in Black—Where Jesus Went. Jesus’ life was led by God. Similarly, God shows up in our lives and causes us to impact others where He places us. Are you in “Egypt,” waiting and wondering why the Lord hasn’t given you the desires of your heart? He has a plan for your life—for good and not for evil, that will be completed in His perfect time.
We are called to be workers on behalf of the gospel regardless of where we are. The workers are few, but the harvest is plentiful.
Are you serving the Lord by sharing the gospel? Are you seeking first His kingdom? Ask the Lord where He wants you to go, and then go!
Check out the whole sermon on our YouTube channel: La Grange Bible Church.
I know listening to Christmas music pre-Thanksgiving is controversial, but regardless of how you feel, this post is for you! We are looking forward to singing Christmas songs and listening to wonderful piano music together on December 8th (post-Thanksgiving so everyone is happy ;)). Missionary Kevin Flierl, from Greater Europe Mission, will be featured at the piano. Concert starts at 7 - refreshments to follow! The event is free, so bring your friends!
Being the hands and feet of Jesus! Some of our small groups spent the afternoon raking leaves, cleaning gutters, and washing windows yesterday for people in our Church! Look at all their hard work! Grateful for those who volunteer their time to make others’ lives easier. ♥️ 🍁 🍂
So thankful for the sacrifice and the commitment of those who have served. ❤️🤍💙
On Sunday, we heard a powerful story from the Old Testament about Elijah. God showed up in big ways (and in small ways too)! ♥️ Elijah exhibits faith and strength in some parts of the story, and later we see that he is simply human and has his moments of doubt and weakness too. Reflect on these questions that Pastor Danny asked us at the beginning of his sermon. Where do you need to focus this weekend? #
Ready or not, November is here and Thanksgiving is coming! Be sure to stop by our Thanksgiving wall on Wednesday or Sunday to add your bit of gratefulness! And while you’re at it, make plans to join us for a relaxed celebration on Thanksgiving morning: starting with our annual hike at Graue Mill at 7:30am.
What a God we serve! He saves us, He loves us, and He wants us to lay our burdens at His feet. Whatever you’re going through right now, rely on the rock that is higher, stronger, and bigger than it all and you will find rest and salvation. ♥️🙏🏻
We are ON for Trunk or Treat tonight! Looks like it's going to be a beautiful night. See y'all in your costumes soon!
Looking forward to seeing you at Trunk or Treat this Friday! We will make a weather decision by 4pm. Check back here or over on our Instagram.
This series displays how God reveals himself to His people. Thankful that He knows our unique needs and meets us where we are. How has He shown up for you this week?
We heard from our guest, Brian Ondracek, on Sunday. He gave us a quick review of 1 Kings 1-9, and then dove into “It was the best of times. It was the worst of times” during the rule of King Solomon. Thankful that God can use anything for His glory—including our failures! 🙌🏻 Thinking about takeaway 3, who in your life needs Godly wisdom?
How has your time in God’s word been lately? Are you being intentional? Are you making room for Him to speak? Are you listening? What are you learning? Share with us in the comments!
This week’s thoughts about God come from Dave and Karly Enright. Swipe to see who God is to them and how He has shown up in their lives. Which one do you relate with?
