It’s the little nooks that do it for me in this basement reno 🤍

Here are a couple simple ways to add charm to an otherwise blank canvas (like an empty basement):

- Install builtins. Builtins are always a good idea. Especially in a space as open and bare as a basement. They add instant character and charm to any space plus the functional element of storage and display.

- Utilize texture. The tile in the kitchenette, the glass of the pendant above the sink. The fabric of the pillowcases and the couch. Utilizing different elements of texture adds warmth and character, transforming a once empty room into a vibrant oasis.

- Add color. Now I know, I know, this space isn’t dripping with every color of the rainbow, it is however strategically utilizing color in decor and cabinetry. Offsetting the neutral walls with pops of color here and there. Nothing overwhelming, but just enough to bring a comfortable, “lived in” feel.
