I haven’t posted in quite awhile. I’ve been working on getting certified as a NeuroGraphica™ specialist.

I’m excited to learn this method of creating new neural pathways through drawing, color and shapes. It’s a way to tackle and remove self-limiting beliefs and bring about inner transformation that carries over into outer life change.

You know you’re a people pleaser when you’re emotionally exhausted but everyone in your circle has all their emotional needs met…

By you, of course.

There’s nothing wrong with being there for others. In fact, that’s what most of us want in a friend. But being there for others at the expense of our own well-being can lead to exhaustion, depression and resentment.

People pleasing has deep roots. It’s often a sign that we believe other people have more value than we do.

Guess what, though? You deserve just as much attention, love and care as you show to other people.

Maybe you just need a little help learning how to value yourself. I’m here for you.

Stressed at work? Here are three tips to help diffuse your inner time bomb.

• Take a brisk walk. Even 5-10 minutes will clear your mind, oxygenate your blood, and defrag your brain.

• Clear the clutter. Having a clean workspace can reduce your stress immensely.

• Take out a clean sheet of paper. For 3 seconds, scribble. Let your frustration out on the paper in those 3 seconds. Then crumple it and throw it away.

Bonus tip: Make a task list. And make sure to check off each item when completed to give yourself a sense of accomplishment.

• Clear the clutter. Stop what you’re doing and clean off your workspace. You will feel loads better with a cleaner space.

• Take out a blank sheet of paper. For 3 seconds, scribble. Allow your frustration to move onto the page. Then crumple it up and throw it away. Take out another sheet of paper and draw circles. Big, little, overlapping, imperfect. Draw until you feel your stress deflate.

What is my purpose?

That’s a question many of us have asked more than once in our lives. We ask it when we feel lost or stuck, when we’ve just gone through a tough time and don’t know what to do, or when we’re at a crossroads and can’t see which direction to go.

If you’re wondering about your own life’s purpose, it helps to remember what brings you joy. What do like to do or experience? When you’re feeling the most satisfied and at peace, what are you doing? What are you thinking about? Who are you with?

Your purpose doesn’t need to be laser specific, like developing the perfect cat toy. Usually when we find our purpose, it’s much more generalized, like working with animals.

I recognized my purpose long ago - it’s simply helping people. I can do that in any capacity. Helping someone carry something up a flight of stairs. Listening to a friend that needs to talk. Assisting a coworker with a glitchy computer. Developing a side business as an intuitive life coach. 🙂

You may want something more glorious and attractive as your purpose. It isn’t usually like that. If you can find what you’re good at, what brings you joy, you can usually find many ways to express it. And the more aligned you are with your purpose, the happier you will feel.

When you scroll through social media, you can find a lot of love and a lot of hate.

At the core, I sense a lot of hurt. People who are wounded often believe they have no ability to offset the negative effects of their hurt. They respond to others in the only way they know. Often, that’s through belittling, ghosting, betraying, lying or worse.

Some people, however, want to do more than just survive in their place of pain. They seek out friends or counselors. They get involved in service or organizations that bring hope. They start working on themselves and eventually, the pain is less and they are stronger.

Next time they are wounded, they are more resilient and able to believe they will survive. Eventually, they learn to trust their own ability to avoid some painful situations, creating healthier relationships for themselves.

These people end cycles of pain. They are better role models for their children. They stand up to hate by sharing their love.

These are my favorite people.

I’m not here to be a devil or an angel. But I AM here to help you figure out what’s right for YOU.

Where do you feel stuck? Are you bogged down by old belief systems? Does your brain tell you all the reasons why you’ll never achieve anything more than where you are now?

Believe it or not, you have the power to change all that. You just might need a little help.
