Lydia's Homemade Goodies

Lydia's Homemade Goodies

Just simple things my daughter and I love to do. We might be baking, feeding animals, or gardening.

These were made last night and gone today.
The ones on the board are what we got to eat and they didn't last long in this house.

If you want to order they are $7 a lb.

My chicken love fresh mint..
And it has health benefits, mint is an antioxidant plus it is high in vitamins A, B and C.
Please know though to much is not good. I only treat them with a handful every week or every other week.
Most days it's some fresh grass or fruit and veggie peels. I do let them run outside, but with newly added chickens and guineas I want them to know where to roost at night before just letting them run wild. πŸ˜…

Amish cleaning hack 1... πŸ˜†

06/07/2022

I love these spider plants. We didn't have house plants growing up until I was old enough to take care of them.. Most amish people have alot of houseplants for this very reason. So many benefits...
If anyone local would like to add some to your collection please message Hattie Villanueva she has a gorgeous selection of house plants for sale.

Did you know the Mallow w**d has many health benefits?
I didn't πŸ‘€ and growing up, us kids loved the buttons off of this plant. We would eat them while w**ding the garden and flower beds. They grew wild and would take over an area.
I was having a conversation with my sister and we were talking about all the crazy things we'd eat growing up, and she said this plant has health benefits. We started digging and turns out they say it's good for G.I issues, urinary issues, liver health, and even blood poisoning...

It's time to gather mint!!!
I was told I can cut and immediately freeze it, and have a fresh cup of tea in the winter. So I will be trying it out for the first time!
Anyone here ever freezer it instead of dry it?

Do you have a rice cooker?
Or if you're like me and don't eat enough rice to see buying one, I have a multipurpose pan.
This is actually the 5ply stainless steel sauce pan from Princess House. I use it for cooking down sauces and just about everything in between, and it does a marvelous job.

Someone suggested I use the water glass technique to save eggs! Have any of you tried this? Any tips? I definitely am going to try it..
