Morrison in 1969 nestled atop a scenic Bahamian ridge in the idyllic Abacos. It is currently owned, operated, and loved by his daughter's family, The Ammenheusers. In 2022, the cottage was rebuilt to host 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Welcome back to Sea Loft!!!
In 2019, the catastrophic force of Hurricane Dorian left little remaining to be salvaged from our beloved and resilient little cottage. However, what some of you may not have known when you stayed with us is that Sea Loft was not always meant to be the structure that sat on top of the Ridge on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas.
WD Morrison, Sea Loft’s original owner and builder, had not intended for the cottage to remain a single-room, utilitarian building. The structure was meant to be a staging ground for a more prominent, spacious, and an even more charming home.
The original blueprints for the concept of Sea Loft were passed down through generations and 50 years after their conception, WD’s grandson and his family were presented with the opportunity to make Sea Loft the pure and peaceful oasis and home away from home that it was always meant to be.
Built on the footprint of the original shack, in the shade of the same palms and palmettos swaying in the steady breeze off the Atlantic Ocean, the blueprints have become a reality! And we are thrilled to welcome you back to Sea Loft! We are so excited to be hosting Sea Loft with Elbow Cay Properties!
The new cottage offers two-bedrooms and two-bathrooms. A gourmet’s kitchen with everything guests need to host their family and friends. Sea Loft pays homage to the original building with an open living area, but now with huge windows offering views of endless blue seas.
Sea Loft is also fully powered by solar ☀️ and soon will also generate its own water 💧
