A PLACE WHERE CHARACTER COUNTS Welcome to Richmond Elementary School! We are a small, family-oriented school with a current enrollment of about 280 students.
Our school, which educates kindergarten through sixth grade students, is located on the Southeast side of Appleton, just east of Lawrence University and the College Avenue Bridge that spans the Fox River. We are less than one week away from our Meet the Teacher Night. Our staff have been hard at work making sure our building is ready to welcome back our amazing families! This takes place on Wednesday, August 28th from 4:30-6:00 pm. We are SO excited to see everyone! π₯³π«

Here are two new faces to Richmond this year!
β€οΈ Miss Zachowski comes to us from the Oshkosh School District. She will be teaching 4th grade this year, which is the grade she taught while in her last district. We are very excited to welcome her to our school and we know sheβll be a great fit!
β€οΈ Mr. Mecikalski is teaching a new position at Richmond this year. The recent referendum that passed allowed our district to implement STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) classrooms into our elementary schools. Our students will love this class and Mr. Mecikalski will be a great addition to our staff!

We have some new staff to celebrate at Richmond! These are two faces that you may have seen halfway through the school year.
β€οΈ Miss Bergin joined us as a paraprofessional last school year. She is a great addition to our staff and works well with our students both inside the classroom and outside at recess. We are very lucky to have her!
β€οΈ Mrs. Lodico joined us second semester last year as a 3rd grade teacher. This year, she will be teaching 1st grade at Richmond. She is a ray of sunshine and shows that with staff and students in our school.
We are very lucky to have two caring and devoted staff members as part of our Richmond family. π

Field Day 2024 was a blast! Our students had an amazing time with the different stations set up. A HUGE thank you to the volunteers who took the afternoon to run our different stations. What a wonderful way to spend this sunny day! βοΈπ
We held our last Character Counts Assembly of the 2023-2024 school year today. It was warm, but we were sure to celebrate these amazing students today with applause and cheers. Mr. Karll/Ryland and Mrs. Tetzlaff/Carlie got to compete in the money machine for freeze pops for their classroom and the winners were...Mrs. Tetzlaff and Carlie! π₯³πβ€οΈ
Mrs. Lodico, Ms. Marx, and Mrs. Tetzlaffβs students held a Writerβs Cafe to celebrate their end of the year writing. Each student wrote about which natural disaster is the most dangerous in their opinion. It was a wonderful turnout, and there were even snacks! Great work, 3rd and 4th graders. πͺοΈβοΈπ

Earlier last week we held our first Book Swap! Students brought books to swap for new ones and everyone was able to go home with at least two books for some summer reading! Big thanks to Mrs. Braunreiter and Mrs. Hernandez for organizing this awesome event. π

Richmond is holding its first ever Book Swap this Tuesday, May 21st. Students can bring in books they no longer read and swap them for new ones. Each classroom will be swapping at a different time on Tuesday. If you are willing and able, please send your child with some books to swap on Tuesday! πππ
We have been busy this week at Richmond! Our carnival yesterday was such a blast. Even though we had to move it inside, we made the best of it!
