The Black Lotus HHC in collaboration with the Colored Girls Museum and the Museum of Black Joy will be hosting “Grounding in Calm” a pre and post election event to aid in addressing the anxiety associated with this coming election and post election concerns. The Black Lotus will offer grounding (9-11 then from 6-8)through meditation, sound therapy, psychotherapy, Nature based therapy, and supportive space for discussion. The Colored Girls museum will offer calm through the healing power of art, within the intentionally curated safe space that is the Colored Girls Museum. All community members will have access to the museum at 1 pm to gather and be in community for collective support along with light refreshments within the beautiful Colored Girls Museum. All activities are free to the public. The Black Lotus will open to the public on 11/6, post election for a special hike and meditation sit.

I had the outstanding opportunity this week to co-facilitate a virtual workshop and healing session with the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association. We discussed barriers, challenges and solutions regarding mental wellness and total wellbeing. I shared several things, including the value of energy medicine and opportunities for healing. *How did I get started doing this type of work?
I received my first in-person reiki treatment in 2014 because I was curious about it and wanted to start the process of deep healing. The healing session helped me uncover a repressed childhood trauma that I was ready to heal. That reiki session not only was a pivotal point on my healing journey, but it also confirmed my calling to be a healer.
*What types of customers have you worked with?
I have helped people with many issues including: anxiety, depression, PTSD, sexual trauma, and physical injuries. Some want a treatment because they are curious or they want a deep sense of relaxation. Every client has have left my table better than when they came.
