Another Saturday pickin’ some songs with friends.

Little Millie doesn’t seem to mind my learning curve on the banjo 😉… it’s been a lot of fun getting to understand it better. It was a very special gift from an old neighbor of mine who built it, Steve Benson. Salute, Steve!

Had a fun day pickin’ and hanging out. 🙂

Had this album waiting for me when I got home from work… no question why I had to have this one in the collection 😎

It’s no secret how much I love my National resonator guitar for slide playing, have always felt blessed to own it, so it gave me a big smile seeing this clock on the wall when I was visiting some of the music stores around Nashville yesterday!

Entertainment for the lowest common denominator, baby food for the simple minded.

Had a lot of fun jamming with these guys today!

What do you do while you’re getting ready for the new record to be mastered? I guess if you’re a crazy cuss like me, you start dreaming up a new batch of songs. Out of compulsion if nothing else.

The guitar in the picture may be the long gone now, but at least the ‘soul’ in the pic remains…😏

My own slide arrangement of an old song, ‘Who’s Sorry Now’ made it bluesy and ragtime-ish. I do love that National guitar…🙂

Amazing how a speaker upgrade will transform an amp! Big salute to Josh Martin at Celestion Speakers for getting me setup with a new Creamback for my little Marshall combo!

Working on this song tonight with the ol’ National guitar... my ballad written for John Dillinger after I read the fantastic book about him written by Dary Matera.

Little Millie turns 8 today.... I think ever since I saw a picture of Dickey Betts from the Allman Brothers pickin’ an acoustic with a dog at his feet, I always dreamed I would someday too. I’d pretty much walk through fire for her and Winston. 🥰

Had a really good time at a house jam with some wonderful people last night! Even played Mama Tried in dedication to my Mom and all the mothers out there for the weekend’s occasion 😉 Thanks to Don and Elisa for always hosting great time!

Wanted to give my sunburst Strat an even more 1950’s vibe, so my tech buddy Marty MacMillan installed some Fender Pure Vintage ‘56 pickups in it today...and they’re exactly what it was needing!

Fender Stratocaster baby... well, if the shirt fits. 😏 Just trying to stay creative this Saturday evening.

Saturday night, sittin’ on the floor, guitar, pen and paper... there’s just no way to measure what writing songs means to me.

Really nice to see my friends at Rock N Wool Winery today. They’ve been so supportive of my music. Hope to be playing a show there in a couple months! 🙂

Had a lot of fun hanging out my old friend, Tyson at Walnut Hill Church in lovely Baraboo, Wisconsin today, working on his amp and pedal rig. Feeling very grateful this Christmas season, and I hope you all are as well.
