We are putting out our first unblended, straight lambic. Barrel 16 (6.2% alc/vol, 500mL) is a single barrel ferment (barrel # 16, hence the name)packaged at 20 months old and bottle conditioned for 6months. Inherently a very limited run, Only 30 cases produced. Limit 2 per person.

A huge thank you to New York State Craft Beer for the incredible honor. On Friday, one of our barrel ferments, Love is Overtaking Me '22 (6.2% Alc/Vol) which features on its label the art of our dear friend Dana McClure Studio was selected by the contest judging panel for a gold medal in the Barrel Aged Sour category in the 2024 NYS Craft Beer Competition.
If that weren't mind blowing enough, amongst a room full of some of the finest brewers and breweries in the state, this beer was also selected as the Best in Show and awarded the Governor's Cup for 2024, presented by none other than Governor Kathy Hochul herself!
We are beside ourselves and very honored to be selected. Thank you to our community of customers, supporters, family and friends who have made Kingston Standard what it is and contribute mightily to what it will become.
2024 Winners | New York State Craft Beer Competition The NYS Craft Beer Competition is the largest state-level competition in US and a celebration of the New York State craft beer community. Produced by the New York State Brewers Association (NYSBA) & Raise a Glass Foundation.
One can obsess over process all you want, but without a high-quality raw material, you’ve got nothing worth obsessing over. The folks at and make some fine malted barley that makes up 95% of the grist over here.
They source NY state grown wheat and barley for us and many others - A big part of what makes the HV craft bev scene so awesome!

What is a Wee Heavy you may ask? Well luckily your friendly local brewer here can tell you all about it…
A Wee Heavy is a very dark Scotch style ale and ours is a dainty (surprise) 6.9% alc/vol. Unlike their southern English cousins, these Scottish styles ferment at cooler temps and drink with a cleaner fermentation profile than your average ale. It is a very dark brown ale that ferments long a slow for an exceptionally smooth, clean finish (not totally unlike a Kölsch or Altbier in that regard). Come by the taproom and give it a try.
