🌼🌸🌷🌻🪻 I’M away from my home in Arlington. I can’t work on crafting so I’m going thru my pictures. I had forgotten I took this video a couple years before we moved from Mansfield. We did all the work ourselves. Frank snd some workmates built the pergola. We laid the stone and did the design and planting. It’s true you don’t realize what you have till it’s gone. I miss my yard almost 20 years In the making. This isn’t even completed….but then are gardens ever really finished! The hours and days spent planning, planting, moving, adding, replanting, mulching, shopping for more. We buy plants without even knowing where they will go, but somehow find a spot to squeeze them in. There’s always a new plant we have to have. Arlington home backyard was a blank slate with a large empty spot where a pool was. No trees in the yard means no shade…tough life for a plant in Texas summers. If I had unlimited resources, I’d hire someone to do what my mind sees. But you can’t buy shade, at least not in my lifetime. So for now, I’ll be content to piddle in the back and set my sights on what I can do with the partially shaded front. I have plans, ever changing plans, but for now, I’ll enjoy making my garden art that takes the place of working in my garden.

You never know who’s going to show up in my yard….. The lake view is about a block up the street,so we are in the fly by zone. With Lake runoff snd wooded area behind the fence, we get visitors, but only the second egret we’ve seen in the yard. A pair of ducks and the odd one now and then are daily visitors.
