Memorial Day at Legacy was spent with friends and family, enjoying Texas Dry-Rubbed Ribs smoked on-site since 5:30am, Broccoli Salad, Corn Bread with Honey Butter, Potato Salad, and topped off by Chocolate Malts all around!

Our kitchen pulled off a terrific surprise for both our residents and staff this evening! Banana Split Parfait Boats! Fresh bananas, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, granola, vanilla yogurt topped white a dot of whipped cream!

What a great treat. Thank you Tish, for fun food surprises!

Wow! What a week we have had! We went to McDonalds on Monday. We started our chair yoga classes right after walking club and that was enjoyed by all that came out. We had the fabulous Wildwood Flower music ladies, everyone enjoyed their music. Ending our week with a robust afternoon of bingo.

We’ve had the best of days! Bingo and co****le competition!Enjoying a Dairy Queen day to beer and bingo….and attending the Brownsdale community lunch at the Methodist Church. Movies and popcorn have been a favorite during the winterstorm, but we feel the warm feeling of spring coming! Everyone is so excited for spring that turns into summer!

We had a perfect day…the weather was perfect and smiles were in abundance. Thank you to The Red Rock Rangers 4H kids and their families. The spring Petting Zoo for our residents, their families, our staff and their families was just what we needed. Thank you to the community of Brownsdale for joining in on the fun!

We had such a nice day! We went to the Brownsdale Community Noon Lunch we all look forward to going it’s so good! Then BINGO!

We have had the best start to our week! Monday Cowboy Colby was here and we started our Easter crafts. Today we celebrated Ash Wednesday with Deacon coming out to give ashes to the residents. The morning started with the ladies making centerpieces for the dining room and enjoying an afternoon of fun and food❤️ Special Thank you to Our Farm Fresh for gifting beautiful floral bouquets to all the residents and staff!

Super Bowl Sunday 2024 is under way!!!

What a great week we had, the weather was perfect for walking outside for our daily walking club. We went on our weekly shopping trips and snuck in pie and coffee at Perkins. Looking forward to our Super Bowl party on Sunday and a packed full of events next week.

This week we attended the Brownsdale Community lunch at the Brownsdale Methodist Church….we had so much fun, great food and mingling with our neighbors!

The best gift anyone can ever give another is the gift of time and memories. Thanks for doing exactly that in such a fantastic fashion Michelle.

Michelle graciously visited Legacy on Christmas Day and captured photos of our residents who opted in. She's offered these photos to our residents and families free of charge (digital). As unusual as the weather was…..it made a night of Christmas lights and ice cream fun! Merry Christmas 🎄

We have been so busy that the time has just gone so fast! We have been visiting our scheduled shopping trips and with the holidays approaching we’ve added a number of extra stores to visit! On the windy days we gather for movies and popcorn, we’ve had so much fun watching Christmas movies. The crafts are in full swing some residents working hard daily to make gifts for loved ones! Snuck in a trip to Perkins for pie and coffee also. It’s not the end of the year yet and we have so much more to do!

We have a great start to our week. We watched “Santa Claus is Coming to town” and stayed with the Santa theme with our crafts! This is a great start to our December!

Today was the perfect day for a sleigh ride! Our residents and employees with their families had a so much fun!

We had so much fun at Steve’s Pizza. We are almost done with all the Christmas decorations! We will let you in on all the joy and creativity soon! Everyone’s spirits are high even the cold hasn’t stopped us!

Calling all you Night Owls! Legacy of Brownsdale has an Overnight Position available on our Direct Care team. The shift hours are 10pm to 6am, 3 to 4 days per week. Hourly wage is $17 to $19 hourly starting (plus $1 hourly shift differential). We are committed to biweekly 3-day weekends. Legacy utilizes a Block permanent schedule. Once we fill this position we will be fully staffed!

We had so much fun this week! We started our winter crafts! Everyone enjoyed sitting around and crafting, lots a laughter and friendship. We went to Walmart, Hy-Vee, the Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby. Today we celebrated our Veterans with a breakfast buffet sponsored by Hy-Vee. Then we had a full house for Bingo. We are so excited for next week with the weather going to be so nice….lots to do!

This was the best day! We started the day with a golf tournament and bean bag tournament and the competition was high! Then our favorite cowboy Colby was also there to sing some oldies and goodies. After lunch we had a quick snack while waiting for the kids, community and families to come to trick and treat….there was so many it was fantastic. I’m positive everyone will sleep good tonight.

The excitement is building! Bring you kids out and Trick and Treat from 2-5 tomorrow October 31st! We cannot wait to see you all 🎃

Today we went to Runnings and Hyvee, while at Hyvee we picked up donuts and treats and delivered them to the Mower County Sheriff’s department and also to the Mayo Clinic Ambulance Center to thank and recognize them on National First Responders day. Ending our day with Bingo!

We had so much fun carving pumpkins, watching Hocus Pocus and having popcorn yesterday! Today we went to the Steele County Historical Society for a Welcome Home to Veterans event, our Veterans at Legacy of Brownsdale had a great time listening to the speakers and enjoyed lunch with the group!
