This is a custom coffee bar for a client. This had to fit in an alcove and look like a built in. It also had to be painted in Sherwin Williams Iron Ore paint color. Lastly the bottom drawer had to be large enough to store items that were 12 inches in height.
On the top is a flush mount power outlet, like you would see on an office conference table.
The drawers are all dovetailed and have several coats of clear lacquer.
One of my clients asked me to create a very special coat rack using 3 leaves from her grandmother's dining table. We agreed upon a design after looking at several options. The rack needed to have a cubby to hold mittens, scarves etc.
The first step was to sand off the old finish before running the boards through the milling process. It was necessary to use additional lumber for the sides and plywood was used for the back. I made sure that all the pieces that would be facing outwards were from the leaves.
The door for the cubby does not need a k**b as it is easy to open and close. Magnets were used to make sure the door would stay closed. The client provided the hooks.
Pre-finished plywood was used to give the interior a modern look. The surface is also very durable.
Custom Vanity. A client wanted a vanity with specific measurements and a mixture of slab drawer fronts and Shaker style doors.
I had a request from a client to build a dog gate. The only requirement was it had to be white. The finished gate is 37 inches wide and 28 inches high. I used a magnetic latch that is often used on pool gate security fences. The hinges are standard interior door grade and mortised.
