Green Art Workshop
Green Art Workshop is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which brings eco-conscious art programs to schools and community centers.
During our workshops students will:
…explore the creative potential of non-traditional re-usable materials.
…express themselves through ec0-conscious art projects.
…learn how to make environmentally sustainable choices as artists and citizens.
Colors are everywhere! If you want to make a rainbow sign for your window but you don’t have paint or markers just gather up some magazines and food packaging and get cutting. You’ll also need a blank sheet of paper or cardboard, glue, scissors and a pencil.
Collect different shades of purple, dark blue, light blue, green, yellow, orange and red. These cutouts can be solid blocks of color and include imagery or textures like red strawberries or green grass. You can also include words that are significant to you. Sketch you rainbow shape as a guide. It doesn't have to be perfect. Then rip up your colors into smaller pieces and glue them down to create a unique and beautiful rainbow. You can also add white tissue paper, cotton wool or toilet paper to create clouds at the bottom.
UPDATE: We have decided to cancel this workshop to help contain the spread of COVID-19. Please visit our website for information on upcoming workshops. Stay safe!

We had a lovely time with students from Longfellow Elementary, making lanterns with scrap materials. At the start of the activity, one little boy confided in Haya, the teaching artist, that he was nervous about the project. She reassured him that there was nothing to fear, explaining that there is no "right" or "wrong" in art and that she would help him if he needed it. Cut to him a few minutes later he excitedly showed her how he created a "lunar eclipse" with circles of tissue. She asked if he was still nervous and he said: “not anymore!” 😊
Fall back in love with your clothes! Join us on Saturday at xSpace Arts Hub to find how to repair and enhance damaged garments with visible mending. This free workshop is for all ages! For more information: https://bit.ly/33HKb65
Find out which frugal Royal mends their clothing! This is a great article about thoughtless consumption and how we should treasure and repair the items we already have. Learning how to extend the life of your clothes will help reduce the colossal amount of textile waste the US generates. In 2017 it was over 16 million tons! 🌎 https://tgam.ca/2rTOaPD
Opinion: The life-changing magic of making do The antidote to endless, thoughtless consumption lies not in purging ourselves of the stuff we own, but rather, redefining our relationship with stuff altogether

At our recent exhibition-fundraiser, we challenged people to express themselves freely through collage on our Wall Of Creativity! Take a look at these unique and collaborative works of art!
✨Collage can be used to create fantastical scenes and surreal portraits by piecing together dissimilar images cut from magazines and newspapers. Artists from the Dada movement often used seemingly useless ephemera like tickets and candy wrappers, challenging traditional perceptions of art. Green Art Workshop teaches this technique in multiple workshops, such as Mix & Match Marionettes and Personalized Puzzles.✨
Check out these gorgeous lanterns made at our one of our Light Impressions workshops. We love how the decorations create different atmospheres; cozy, serene or exciting!
Our exhibition-fundraiser was so fantastic we've already decided to make it an annual event! Most of the artwork sold but we have a few pieces left for sale. Drop us an email if anything catches your eye!
