Well, it’s been a good growing season. We have learned a lot. We know that we need to enrich her soil big time. We had about 80 ears of corn. This could have been triple if the soil were in better condition. It was kind of the raccoons to let me know when it was ripe enough to harvest. I used a couple of techniques to keep the animals out. One was to use a doorbell motion detector. There were three sensors that would make the chyme occur when it saw movement. This also alerted me when critters were trying to get in. The deer fencing that you can barely see in this video kept the deer out completely. in the video, you can see an egret attempting to gain access. I think he was a little confused as to what he was running into. Eventually he gave up and left. I also decided to feed the deer corn off the cob and dried in order to distract them. This has also worked well.
