A weird change happened in my life in 2019—I probably surfed 10x more hours than I skied (and probably did 10x more hours of med school than I surfed). Learning a new sport is so damn fun🏄🏻♀️. Med school is also damn fun. But, I think I’m ready to be a skier again in 2020 so lemme know if you want to do Blackcomb laps or sea-to-sky touring days (on the weekends because I’m living that full-time student life👩🏻💻🧑🏻⚕️)

The first day of surfing for me was one of the happiest days of my life. The simple act of getting up on a surfboard and letting myself slide on a wave is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
The more I've learnt from surfing, the more I realize that everything it teaches is actually something which if applied to our wider lives would have an extremely positive impact. It has taught me some of the most important lessons I will probably ever learn.
For many of us surfing is a lifestyle, a religion and an intrinsic part of our souls and personality.
The contact with the sea water, with the beach, and with the fauna and flora that surround the waves, is good for our bodies and purifies our mind.
I will for ever be grateful and thankful for the ocean, the waves, the people and the joy it brings me.
Here are some of the lessons surfing will teach you:
• You learn to be humble.
• It teaches you to believe in yourself.
• To stay focus.
• To be patient.
• To always keep your eyes open and ready.
• To respect others.
• To respect the ocean as well as others.
• That is ok to stop and rest between sets.
• To appreciate the ocean and our mother earth.
El primer día de surf para mí fue uno de los días más felices de mi vida. El simple acto de levantarme en una tabla de surf y dejarme deslizar sobre una ola es algo que llevaré conmigo por el resto de mi vida. Cuanto más he aprendido del surf, más me doy cuenta de que todo lo que enseña es realmente algo que, si se aplica a nuestras vidas más amplias, tendría un impacto extremadamente positivo. Me ha enseñado algunas de las lecciones más importantes que probablemente aprenderé.
Para muchos de nosotros, el surf es un estilo de vida, una religión y una parte intrínseca de nuestras almas y personalidad.
El contacto con el agua del mar, con la playa, y con la fauna y flora que rodean las olas, es bueno para nuestros cuerpos y purifica nuestra mente.
Siempre estaré agradecido con dios por el océano, las olas, las personas y la alegría que me el surfing brinda.
How others see you, is not important, but how you see yourself is what really matters.
Self-care is all about identifying your own needs and meet all those needs. Focus on yourself and do some activities that nurture your physical, mental, and emotional health. It seems easy and simple but takes courage, dedication and discipline to be in a good physical, mental and emotional state of mind. Practicing good self-care can improve your mood, reduce anxiety, and teach you how to treat others.
Self-care should never involve something you don’t enjoy. The things you do should help refuel your mind and body.
No es importante como te vean los demás, pero cómo te veas a ti mismo es lo que realmente importa.
El cuidado personal se trata de identificar sus propias necesidades y satisfacer todas esas necesidades de una manera sana y saludable. Concéntrate en ti mismo y realiza algunas actividades que nutra tu salud física, mental y emocional. Parece fácil y simple, pero se necesita valor, dedicación y disciplina para estar en un buen estado físico, mental y emocional. Practicar un buen cuidado personal puede mejorar su estado de animo, reducir la ansiedad y enseñarle cómo tratar de una mejor manera a los demás.
El cuidado personal nunca debe involucrar algo que no disfrutes. Las cosas que haces deberían ayudar a fortalecer tu mente y tu cuerpo.
