Celebrate Texas Independence Day Inc.
Celebrate Texas is an organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting the education of the general public regarding Texas Independence Day.
Our Purpose: To encourage and promote the education of the general public regarding Texas Independence Day and the history of Texas and its people! Our mission: "It is not our goal to have one large party to celebrate Texas Independence Day; instead, we want all Texans to join the celebration. We will help them, when necessary, to plan their celebration, each in their own way, expressing their app
It is with regret that I must announce that Celebrate Texas Independence Day Inc. is no more. The result is that the events that we had organized will no longer take place. The Texas Independence Parade, Capitol Rotunda Celebration, and State Cemetery Ceremony no longer will be done unless some other group decides to take them up, as happened with the Alamo Memorial Ceremony (2 PM, the Sunday after Texas Independence Day, Heritage Village in New Braunfels).
What happened? The Board of Directors decided to dissolve due to many factors (age; difficulty in recruiting new board members, coordinators, and volunteers; increases in costs from State agencies; logistical challenges with the parade from developers taking over the parking lot we'd used for over 20 years to issues with getting enough police to staff traffic barricades; advertising and website issues; the list is extensive). Two different groups came forward to take over and revitalize CT, but neither of them followed through.
It was a good run, just over 25 years, but now the members of the Board still living are moving on to other passions and challenges.
Thank you for your support, and remember that Together, We Are Texas!

Announcement:
There will be no 2024 Texas Independence Day parade in Austin. Celebrations at the Capitol Rotunda and State Cemetery also did not get scheduled in time. There were too many insurmountable obstacles. We have not begun talking about 2025.
