We had a wonderful time celebrating dads this weekend at Mentor Ridge! We spent the afternoon building birdhouses, enjoying snacks, and exploring the Ridge's serene pollinator-friendly courtyard.

Shout-out to Our awesome Dietary Manager, Tony, for providing the great food and Denny Carleton for keeping us entertained. The weather was almost as wonderful as the fellowship we shared. All in all, our first parking lot party of the season was amazing!

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, Shameka! 👏

Shameka is a valued nurse here at Mentor Ridge. She always has a smile and kind encouraging words for her residents as well as fellow coworkers. She is thorough with her care and really listens to her residents. Residents say she makes them "feel like family." Thank you, Shameka, for your contribution and for your caring touch.

Summer Bread mystery: cheese but no fruit? We took the leap and tried it anyway, and look at the stunning result! Sometimes, culinary adventures lead to unexpected delights. Who knew cheese could make such a pretty loaf?

This month's Art for Artless program had a patriotic theme. Look at these beautiful poppies we created!

We had a blast dressing up in our best 50s gear and spending a delightful afternoon at Mentor Ridge enjoying root beer floats and classic 1950s music. It was a trip down memory lane filled with fun and nostalgia!

50's week continues! Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting a small but mighty classic and current car show. It was so nice to spend time outside, listen to music, and reminisce. Many thanks for everyone who gave their time and brought cars. Congratulations to top 3 best in show winners!

Every Mother's Day, some kids of our staff spread joy by passing out flowers to all the moms at Mentor Ridge. This year, we were thrilled to extend our tradition and bring smiles to The Preserve as well. It's a small gesture, but seeing the happiness it brings makes it all worthwhile. Here's to celebrating all the wonderful moms out there!

It was 1950's style fun and games at The Ridge today! Our amazing staff members showed off their hula hoop skills for our residents. Dietary manager, Tony, and his staff grilled up a tasty lunch. Some of our folks opted to participate in the lunch-in program and ordered from Mcdonald's. The afternoon ended with a doubleheader Bingo, everyone's favorite game!

Happy Nursing Home Week! Once a day, we will spin the wheel to see who will win a prize. Congratulations to some of our winners this week!

Drive-in movies were all the rage in the 1950's. At The Ridge, we enjoyed our own version, a drive-in(side) movie!

One such visit occurs with Mr. Thomas Guenther and his beloved dog, Bandit. Despite the recent transition to the facility, Katherine, Mr. Guenther's wife, ensures that Bandit's visits remain a regular occurrence., offering Mr. Guenther a source of comfort and familiarity.

Today, we celebrate Mentor Ridge Health & Rehabilitation's achievement of serving 3000 patients in long-term care and short-term skilled rehabilitation services since its opening in May 2017! 🎉

Judi Mrosko is our esteemed 3000th patient! Stepping into skilled rehab for the first time, Judi found herself embraced by the warmth and support of Mentor Ridge's exceptional staff. "Everyone at Mentor Ridge is nice and helpful," Judi said.

We had an a-MAY-zing week last week. We celebrated May Day by making spectator caps, spent an afternoon outside in our beautiful courtyard, and took out our frustrations on some Oreo cookies by making the tastiest "poor man truffles." Madeline, our music therapist, brightened our afternoon with some music and we held our very own Ridge Derby while sipping mint julep tea. Phew! We are looking forward to more fun, creative events this month!

Today, we got to celebrate an amazing worker as it was her last day with us. April has been with us for almost two years and is a devoted, caring, understanding, patient, loving, and nurturing worker. During her time at Mentor Ridge, she has made a huge impact on not just us but our residents and families. She will be missed by all! We wish her nothing but the best on her new adventures in Texas! 💙

Bubble bubble 'twas no trouble in our Mad Science program. We exercised our lungs, learned how bubbles are formed, and tried our hand at making an unpoppable bubble!

We experimented with a 1919 cornstarch cookie recipe in our vintage cooking activity. Everyone agreed that the cookies have an interesting taste, but would be better with chocolate or fruit!
