Tornado season is upon us in the Midwest. Lately, reports of tornadoes may seem to be more frequent, but there's still a lot we don't know about them. So, are we experiencing more tornadoes? Or does it just seem like it?

Are We Experiencing More Tornadoes? | Arvig Blog Tornado season is upon us in the Midwest. Lately, reports of tornadoes may seem to be more frequent, but there's still a lot we don't know about them.

On Tuesday, October 25th, Arvig experienced a cybersecurity incident at approximately 6:45am. An attempted ransomware attack was unsuccessful. While it failed, the attackers were still able to cause a service interruption.

This attack failed due to the extra layers of protection implemented by Arvig's cybersecurity team. These additional layers were created to protect our customer's data, which will always be one of our top priorities. At this time, it does not appear that any customer or employee data was accessed.

This incident is being investigated thoroughly and a forensic analysis is being conducted to validate that the threat was mitigated. Arvig was able to restore voice and internet services in approximately 3.5 hours.
