The NECHC stands in solidarity with folks who identify as 2STGD++ and who are BIPGM. The NECHC believes that gender affirming healthcare saves lives, and that 2STGD++ folks deserve to feel accepted, protected and celebrated. As an organization, we stand up against the hate and misinformation circulating within the larger community.
If moved to ask “how can I help”, NECHC suggests:
•Print off and display a “No Space for Hate” poster
•Donate to the Youth Project and support their important work with youth in schools
•Educate yourself
Our social work walk-in clinic will be closed today due to maintenance issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.
October MOSH calendar
Treaty Day (October 1), marks the first day of Mi'kmaq History Month. The aim is to raise public awareness of Mi'kmaw culture and heritage among all Nova Scotia citizens.
Tomorrow is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Honoring Survivors and Remembering the Children.
September 30th: On this day, we pay tribute to the children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as the Survivors, their families, and communities. Public commemoration of this tragic and painful history, along with its ongoing effects, is an essential part of the reconciliation process.
