How big is the Adirondack Park, you ask?

It's the largest National Historic Landmark in the United States, covering an area larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and the Great Smokies National Parks combined.

Adirondack Park is a state park in eastern Upstate New York that comprises both public and private land. It was established in 1892 and given state constitutional protection to remain "forever wild" in 1894.

Not really an apples-to-apples comparison, since within the borders of the Adirondack Park are many municipalities and a large amount of privately owned land. And "coincidentally" many of the large private estates surrounded by endless acres of park land were and probably still are owned by families you might recognize Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, etc. Nevertheless, a spectacular place and a treasure.

There are seven half hour episodes, you could come and go to catch one or all. It will be repeated Aug 8th.

Producers Shelli Lipton and Nathan Koenig will be there to do Q&A’s and serve refreshments. This is American history from the Iroquois point of view and what was omitted when these people were helping the United States form their government.

Some folks can handle it! I can’t. It wasn’t all the time but those nights that there was something to celebrate or it just felt right .. I used to just NEED to finish whatever’s there and then go get more and finish that.. to just push it to the point of oblivion. Honestly, I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t stop.. I know I would have screwed this up by now.. it’s hard enough to keep this life together without being hammered or hung over.. and the main thing that made this possible for me is all of you. It's that time of year again!
That means that the bees will be preparing to swarm. Most swarms occur between mid-May and mid-July in New York.

Swarming is the way that hives naturally reproduce. When a hive is strong enough and has a good population of bees, they will produce a new Queen, then the old queen will leave the hive and take half of the bees with her, leaving the new queen and the remaining bees behind.
If you happen to see a swarm of bees, DO NOT PANIC! A swarm of bees is very docile, as they have no hive, no eggs and no honey to protect. DO NOT spray them with pesticides!
PLEASE DO call your local beekeeper's association and they will be more than happy to send a beekeeper to collect the bees. Once collected, the beekeeper will put them into a hive and help them establish a new colony.

May 27, 2017 we lost the Great American singer/songwriter & Allman Brothers Band leader, Gregg Allman to cancer. He was 69. They were an American Band! If you don't own any of his music,go buy🎼
