Will Metcalf
Businessman and 6th Generation Montgomery County resident that represents Texas House District 16 in
December 7, 1941 is a day that will live in infamy. The attack on Pearl Harbor thrust the United States into World War II, and today we remember the bravery of those who faced the unimaginable. Let’s honor their sacrifice and commitment to freedom. We enjoyed taking our girls to visit the Pearl Harbor National Memorial this summer.
Always wonderful to be with the North Shore Republican Women in Bentwater for their annual Christmas program and board installation. I was honored to conduct the installation ceremony for the incoming board and know they have a great year ahead in 2024. Congratulations to these ladies on their new positions in the organization!
Thank you Governor Greg Abbott for your endorsement of our re-election campaign! It is an honor to serve House District 16, and I am proud of our conservative accomplishments. I was grateful to be tapped as the lead architect and negotiator for the House on the $18 billion dollar tax cut we were successful in passing this year, and I am proud of many other conservative victories Texas has led on the last few sessions. We have banned abortion, are building our own state border wall, and have stopped gender modification on our minors, just to name a few. There is still plenty more work to be done for the people of Texas and Montgomery County, and I look forward to working with Governor Abbott to bring home those victories.
In case you missed it, we held an exciting groundbreaking for the new Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park Education and Visitors Center on Veterans Day earlier this month. I was proud to secure $7 million in our state budget last session from the Texas Parks and Wildlife to fund this building as well as the Gold Star Family Memorial dome that will break ground at a future date. The Education and Visitors Center will open to the public next summer. https://www.yourconroenews.com/neighborhood/moco/events/article/construction-underway-education-center-conroe-18496426.php -24454505
There are progressive forces trying to sexualize our children every day with their radical, woke agendas. As State Representative, I have stood up for our Texas children, doing everything in my power to protect them from exploitation. This year, I proudly banned gender mutilation surgeries on our minors, preventing irreversible mental and physical damage to our children. I will always fight for our children and work tirelessly to stop those who want to endanger them. Texas children are OFF LIMITS to the radical woke agenda.
The Mexican cartels are flooding Texas with illegal immigrants and Fentanyl at record levels. To stop them, I backed $5 billion dedicated to state border protection during the regular session — the toughest in state history — to finish the wall and expand law enforcement. During the third and fourth special sessions we passed additional legislation to further fight the illegal immigration crisis caused by the Biden Administration. I am proud to have co-sponsored SB 4, which creates a state offense for illegal entry from a foreign nation and allows for an illegal immigrant to be ordered to return to their country. We must protect our border from these dangerous cartels since the Biden Administration refuses.
Thank you to former Texas Governor and US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry for your support in our re-election campaign!
"If you can do it, it ain't braggin. And that's what Will Metcalf is all about. I've watched Will Metcalf and he gets things done. You have a state representative who is a courageous man. In my 35 years of public service, whether it's been a pilot in the Air Force, or a state Representative, the Ag Commissioner, Lt. Governor or Governor, or going up and working at the Department of Energy, I've had the opportunity to be exposed to a lot of quality people, and Will Metcalf is right at the top of that list. Will Metcalf is a selfless servant for our state, and for you."
-Former Texas Governor and Secretary of Energy Rick Perry
The Biden Administration continues to stand on the sidelines while hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants march through our borders. Texas is standing in the gap where Washington D.C. is failing. I co-sponsored SB 3 during this most recent special session to secure an additional $1.5 billion for the construction and operation of our own state border wall. This will help deter drug dealers, human traffickers, and vandals from crossing into our state.
When the left tried to push their radical, woke agenda on Texas children, I fought back. I have helped pass important legislation to protect our children including, keeping men out of women’s sports, banning sexually explicit content from schools, keeping drag shows away from children, banning critical race theory, and prohibiting gender mutilation surgery on minors. Texas has sent a loud and clear message to those pushing the radical woke agenda that our Texas children are OFF LIMITS.
From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you have a blessed day full of family and friends.
Sadly, we are seeing liberal radicals all over the country authorize abortions in their states, even up to the point of birth. I am proud that Texas got ahead of the game, passing the trigger abortion ban and expanding health resources for new mothers. I will always stand up for the unborn and protect the right to life for all Texans.
Bidenflation continues to place a burden on American families, especially during the holidays. Texas delivered with record property tax relief this session by passing the $18 billion relief package I authored to keep more money in your pocket and out of the government’s hands.
Thanks To Bidenflation, Your Thanksgiving Dinner Costs Are Still High Americans will pay 25 percent more for Thanksgiving staples this year than they did under President Donald Trump in 2019.
I am thankful for our police and other first responders who put themselves in harm's way to keep our community safe. I fully stand behind the men and women of law enforcement, and I will continue to provide them all the resources they need to get the job done.
The majority of Americans disapprove of how the federal government has handled border security. As Biden continues to fail America, Texas remains the firewall to save our country. That’s why we have passed additional, strong border security measures in the third and fourth special sessions.
Fox poll: Americans disapprove of Biden’s border policies The increased support for a border wall and tighter border security comes as the U.S. faces a surge of migrants at the U.S. border with Mexico.
It was great to be back in the district with the wonderful members of the Lake Conroe Area Republican Women for their meeting where I was honored to give a legislative update and swear in the 2024 executive board members. We also paid tribute to Judge Lanny Moriarty who recently passed. Judge Moriarty was the Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace for many years, and he will be sorely missed by the community. We are grateful for his years of service.
I was also proud to present LCARW member Carole Parsons with a resolution commending her for her tireless work for the National Motto Project that LCARW has taken on to get “In God We Trust” posters in as many local school district classrooms as possible. Carole and the LCARW board have done an outstanding job putting over 550 posters in classrooms around our community. Congratulations to outgoing president Stephanie Johnson on a successful year!
Where Washington DC fails, Texas delivers! Last night we passed two monumental pieces of legislation addressing the border crisis caused by the Biden Administration. I look forward to a new leader in the White House next year but in the meantime the state of Texas must step up and do everything we can secure our border.
✅SB 4, co-sponsored - Subjects individuals to detention and arrest who illegally entered the state from a foreign nation.
✅SB 3, co-sponsored - Appropriates an additional $1.5 billion for the construction, maintenance and operation of the border wall.
I look forward to the Governor signing these bills into law soon.
I was honored to speak at the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park Veteran's Day celebration and groundbreaking this morning. In 2021, I secured $7 million in the state budget to build our Education and Visitors Center and Gold Star Mother's Memorial Dome here in the park. Our veterans deserve our unwavering support and gratitude, and Montgomery County is proud to honor veterans with this beautiful park and the observances held here. To all who have answered the call of their country, thank you to you and your family for your service. God Bless all those who served in our nation’s military.
On this Veterans Day, we honor the service men and women who are stationed all around the world and who have served in years past with the same unwavering commitment to protecting all the freedoms we hold dear — you are the greatest of patriots. We appreciate your incredible service to our country.
We are back in the committee on Educational Opportunity and Enrichment this morning considering HB 2 and HJR 1 which will establish a school safety fund and grant programs for districts. There is nothing more important than the safety and security of our loved ones when they are on school campuses.
Busy day here at your state Capitol bouncing between two committee hearings. In the committee on Educational Opportunity and Enrichment we are hearing legislation relating to education, teacher pay raises, public school finance and educational savings accounts. In the State Affairs committee, we are hearing HB 4 which will create a state offense for illegal entry from a foreign nation and authorize law enforcement to remove perpetrators. It’s sure to be a full day of testimony and I am proud to serve on both of these committees considering such important legislation.
I am extremely proud that we were able to secure $5 million in the state budget for Children’s Safe Harbor’s new facility and permanent home during the 88th Legislative Session. This vital funding gets us closer than ever before to finally breaking ground on a beautiful campus that will not only allow Children’s Safe Harbor to continue their critical work on behalf of abused children and their families, but to expand that work and the victims they serve for decades to come. Thank you again, Texas voters, for passing Prop 4, the largest tax cut in American history! 🎉 I was proud to author this historic property tax and appraisal reform package this summer and am grateful to my colleagues in the legislature, as well as the Speaker, Lt. Governor, and Governor for their help in providing Texans with relief for Texas taxpayers. Read about the results of all the ballot propositions here:
The votes are in - history has been made! With your vote, we have successfully secured $18 billion in tax cuts, increased homestead exemptions from $40,000 to $100,000, implemented a 20% cap on commercial properties, and added accountability to appraisal district boards. I’m proud to have authored this constitutional amendment and thankful you helped make it a reality! The work continues for the people of Texas, but this is a victory we all can be proud of.
We finished the third called special session earlier today. Governor Abbott called us back for a fourth special session this evening at 5 PM. As you know, only the Governor has the constitutional authority to call a special session and determine the items eligible for debate and passage. This special session, the eligible topics include:
➡️ Education matters and public school finance including education savings accounts
➡️ School Safety legislation
➡️ Legislation to further address illegal immigration at our southern border by creating a state offense for illegal entry from a foreign nation and authorizing removal of illegal immigrants
➡️ Additional funding for the state's border wall and border security mission
I look forward to working on these important topics as the session progresses.
Today is Election Day! It’s your chance to vote YES on Prop 4, the largest tax cut in American history and approving appraisal district reform. Polls are open until 7:00 pm. Find your polling location here: https://elections.mctx.org/EDPolls.asp?ELID=81&curLang=English
Texans shouldn’t be forced to choose between personal medical decisions and their livelihood. We passed SB 7 to prohibit private employers from forcing employees to get the Covid vaccine. Texas remains the best state to work and do business!
Today marks one year from the 2024 election! Until voters have the opportunity to fire Joe Biden, in the Texas Legislature, we are working overtime to make up for his failures. In the third special session, we passed significant legislation to increase Border Security where the federal government is failing.
Texas House approves bill allowing police to arrest and deport migrants Texas is one step closer to giving police the authority to arrest migrants and deport them from the US after State Republicans approved House Bill 4 on Thursday.
We must do everything to support law enforcement because the safety of Texas families is one of my top priorities. In the Texas House, I’ll continue to be one of the strongest voices for law enforcement in our state—ensuring they have the tools and resources to combat crime effectively. Just this year we passed a pay increase program for rural law enforcement, gave police more tools to combat organized crime, and reigned in rogue district attorneys who refuse to follow Texas law.
Today is your LAST CHANCE to vote early in the constitutional amendment election. As the author of Proposition 4, I encourage you to get out and vote YES on Prop 4, the largest tax cut in American history. More details here:
Vote FOR Prop 4: The Largest Tax Cut in History – Will Metcalf – State Representative Representative Will Metcalf is a 6th generation resident of Montgomery County and an accomplished business leader. Metcalf has devoted his life to the people of his community, and continues this service as the state representative from House District 16.
In Texas, we REJECT the radical agenda and will fight against everyone who seeks to sexualize our children. This year, I supported the passage of aggressive policies that put Texas families and schools first, banned explicit material in our schools, banned drag shows from being performed in front of our children, and banned gender modification procedures and treatments on our children. Texas has sent a loud and clear message to those pushing the radical woke agenda that our Texas Children are OFF LIMITS.
The Biden Administration's failed open border policies are hurting Texas, so we have taken it into our own hands to combat illegal immigration, human trafficking, and drug smuggling crossing our border. During this third special session, the Texas House has passed three bills to further defend our southern border.

Texas will not stand for inaction by the Biden Administration! I have passed real solutions to help protect our border, including increasing border spending by 600% since 2021, designating Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorists, increasing the criminal penalty for Fentanyl dealers, and giving border agents more authority to detain illegal migrants. Our team is hard at work right now in this special session to pass even tougher border protection laws to turn illegal migrants the other direction, fix weak points on the southern border, and impose harsher penalties for illegal border related activity. Where Washington D.C. fails, Texas will stand in the gap.
