Today is Team Member Tuesday! 🎉

The Music Therapy Solutions team has recently welcomed three new team members. Today we are featuring Maria Beltran, MT-BC.

Check out her responses to our questions below: 👇

🎶 What inspired you to become a music therapist?

“I’ve always known that I wanted music to be a part of my journey, but I also wanted to do something that would allow me to help others. When I learned about music therapy my senior year of highschool, I knew that it was exactly what I wanted to pursue! It was confirmed when I started my bachelor’s degree at Texas Woman’s University. As I learned more about how music was used to help so many populations of people, I knew it was the perfect fit for me.”

🎶 What do you love most about your work?

“I love being able to connect with the people we serve. I really enjoy learning about each individual and sharing the moments that the music brings about. I think the phrase ‘music is a universal language’ sums up why I am so fond of being in this field.”

🎶 Favorite song to use in a session/ why?

“This is a great question, but I have so many that I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one. I will say that I like to include a Beatles song anytime it’s appropriate!”

🎶Three fun facts about Maria:

🛼 She is learning how to roller skate.

🐾 She has a dog named Tiburon which is the spanish word for “shark”.

☀️ Summer is her favorite season.

We at Music Therapy Solutions are passionate about supporting our teachers.

🍎 Subsequent to the recent Teacher Appreciation Week, we would like to make a future offer (by lottery/ drawing) of a relaxation or drumming facilitation at a time of year you feel would be most beneficial to you as educators.

🎶 These music therapy interventions are supportive in reducing stress (which can lead to burnout) and certain music-based techniques can be used for self-care.

💬 Please share your thoughts as to the best time of year for you/ your colleagues to schedule your drumming facilitation or music relaxation experience!

And remember, you do not have to be a musician in order to enjoy and benefit from these offerings. 🎉

If you would prefer to reach out personally, please email our CEO, Tiffany Wyndham Hunt at: [email protected]

Today is Team Member Tuesday! 🎉

The Music Therapy Solutions team has recently welcomed three new team members. Today we are featuring Elizabeth Carr- Jones, MT-BC.

Check out her responses to our questions below: 👇

🎶 What inspired you to become a music therapist?

“My grandparents. My grandpa died of Alzheimer’s a few years ago, but even a few days before he passed, he was still raising his eyebrows or tapping his toes when we would sing together. The first time my grandma and I saw how positively music effected my grandma, she said ‘I like music therapy,’ and we both knew that I had picked a powerful and wonderful profession to pursue.”

🎶 What do you love most about your work?

“I love the little moments, like seeing a resident perk up to a song for the first time, or seeing a group smile and laugh together as they reminisce.”

🎶 Favorite song to use in a session/ why?

“Twist and Shout by the Beatles! It’s such a fun song to get moving to, and you can’t help but sing along to the ‘ahhs.’”

🎶 Three fun facts about Elizabeth:
🎵Her primary instrument is the bassoon.
🇨🇦 She was born in Canada.
🍍 She is team pineapple on pizza

Today is Team Member Tuesday! 🎉

The Music Therapy Solutions team has recently welcomed three new team members. Today we are featuring Brian Radcliffe, MT-BC.

Check out his responses to our questions below: 👇

🎶 What inspired you to become a music therapist?

“Ever since I became a musician, I knew I always wanted to do something more with my music. After learning about the field of music therapy, I knew that this was exactly what I was called to do. The combination of music, healthcare, science, psychology, nature, attempting to measure and understand the ineffable effects of music, and working with people all resonated with me on an extremely deep level. My thoughts and feelings were immediately validated once I observed my first music therapy session, and since then I couldn’t be happier with my decision to become a music therapist!”

🎶 What do you love most about your work?

“I just can’t get over how awesome this field of work is. I get to use the things I’m most passionate about in a creative and unique way to help improve someone else’s life, and I have so much fun while doing it. Even on the tough days, I’m always feeling so happy doing what I get to do. Seeing any amount of positive development in a client’s journey is always a validating feeling for me.”

🎶 Favorite song to use in a session/ why?

“When working with older adults, I really like to play “What A Wonderful World” because it’s a great song for lyric substitution in which we can easily replace the original words with things the clients find wonderful about the world. I always love songs that spur a good discussion full of memories, and I just love this song in particular!”

🎶 3 fun facts about Brian:

🧙‍♀️ He’s related to the guy who plays Harry Potter (they’re very distant cousins).

🧩 He absolutely loves doing crossword puzzles, especially with his Grandma.

⛳️ He chose to play golf in high school instead of being in marching band.

Today, we are sharing about our wonderful CEO and Clinical Director, Tiffany Wyndham-Hunt, MA, MT-BC.

Check out her responses to our questions below:

🎵 What inspired you to start Music Therapy Solutions?

“Great question! I thought at length about the work I was doing as an individual practitioner, providing opportunities for my clients to get more out of each day- physically, emotionally, cognitively and spiritually. The goal was always to support quality of life, and my process was solutions oriented, using music therapy as the vehicle... so Music Therapy Solutions just fit!”

🎵 What do you love most about your job?

“I love the people we serve, the people who care for those we serve, in every discipline and job description. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to get up every morning and know that my job, my reason for being, is using music to support humanity, and know that each of my team members is critical to that effort as well!”

🎵 What is your favorite song to use in a session/ why?

“Great question, but I can’t answer that. The answer would change depending on the client and client’s preferences.”

🎵 Three fun facts about Tiffany:

🇦🇺 Tiffany may sound like a Texan, but she was born in Australia.
🐎 In addition to loving people, Tiffany adores animals “all sizes, shapes!”
✏️ Tiffany has been known to occasionally write poetry.

Thank you

❤️” To the RN who validates residents who are experiencing distress, and serves each person with the care and dignity they deserve.”

Thank you

Today is Team Member Tuesday! 🎉

Today we are featuring Advisory Board Executive, Nellie Doty, MA, MT-BC.

Check out her responses to our questions below: 👇

🎶 What inspired you to become a music therapist?

“ I was to write a term paper my senior year in high school for an English class on a career. In the library there was a little pamphlet with 13 universities that offer this program. Knowing nothing about this career, I decided to do my research. When I finished, I knew it was for me.”

🎶 What do you love most about your work?

“ I love that it combines my love of music and people without being dependent on concerts and/ or teaching. Those were the only choices I had before I discovered music therapy. Also, that my skills are transferable to my modalities. Came in handy as my husband and I moved around.”

🎶 Favorite song to use in a session/ why?

“Through the years it has changed a lot. Don’t think I have a favorite.”

🎶 3 fun facts about Nellie:
