This news was finally announced yesterday by the Social Security Administration: Persons collecting Social Security benefits will get an 8.7% increase in 2023, the highest increase in 40 years due to inflation.

What is more remarkable is that they reported the AVERAGE monthly benefit will increase by $146 per month, to $1,827 in 2023, from $1,681 in 2022.
