Our intakes continue. This Desert Kangaroo Rat was found at a park off the Westside by people near their car, and brought to us today. It seems to have been attacked by a much larger predator. He is too stressed for us to do a complete exam so we put him under a heat lamp in a quiet place. Desert Kangaroo Rats are small nocturnal rodents that have been observed out of their burrows during daylight. Their name derives from their bipedal form and hop in a manner similar to a kangaroo. Their burrows only have one occupant except when a female has a litter. Even though they are particularly aggressive, they halt their aggression for mating.

A little information to share about bats today. The multicolored bat graphic really helps make the point of how much trouble our bats are in and how much they need us to help conserve them.

It seemed so obvious to us, so there you have it! Our beautiful Frankie girl makes us smile!
These amazing shirts were printed by the coolest guy ever- Raul Monarrez! Thank you to him and his son for pulling it off so quickly! All shirts were donated or came from thrift stores- Viva Recycling! β»οΈ
