Studying led to collecting, which led to having several shops since the late 1970's, first in California, and then in Texas since 1986. She has participated in antique shows all over the United States f
or over 30 years. Since moving to Austin, Texas, in 1986, she's been quite active in shows from the Texas Hill country, through Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia to Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. Jim, her husband of 41 years, restores antiques and builds antique-style furniture. He also enjoys restoring and building antique style muzzleloading fi****ms. Barbara started painting in oils and fine arts in the seventies, culminating in her certification by the National Society of Toll and Decorative Artists in 1980. She studied early American folk art painting styles and fell in love with the simple, naive method of painting. She is always searching to learn more and perfect what she has learned. See Barbara and Jim at major antique and folk art shows, PictureTrail, and now on the web and Facebook!
