Back to the basics with this short and sweet exercise. Keeping the dog within 6 feet of the trail with the guidance of flags and leash handling. Here Team Rylee makes it look like a breeze. Finding her lost "Ghost" up on top of the bank. Great work Tammy and Rylee.

This is how we do it, Says K9 Ringo. When an obstacle or "door" is in the way, we just bust it down. No question in anyones mind that Kevin was inside this enclosure.

Part 1 of 2. Here we see Ringo starting out and doing an exterior building search, the runner Tammy had circled the building as she wandered off. The trail was aged almost 2 hours .41 mile long. Terrain had many surface changes, buildings and rugged terrain. Great job Team Ringo.

4-3-24 BRK9SAR training, F.E.N.C.E Tryon, NC. Thank you to Tryons FENCE for allowing us to use their facility in our training exercise.
Our team of handlers and support members that were present at this training consisted of Willie and K9-Ringo, Shelly and K9 True, Tammy and K9 Rylee, Abby and K9 Duck, and Stan and K9 Wylie. Our team support member, Kevin made it a successful training exercise by running/hiding for us.
Todays emphasis is rural trailing from .3 - .5 miles aged trails up to four hours. Utilizing multiple surface changes from grass gravel to asphalt and many rows of horse stalls. The weather was between 45 to 60° with wind up to 12 mph, with cloudy to sunny skies.
Trails were run as a single and or double blind for handler and flanker.
3 trails were set, two as "ghost runs" with a scent article over a pillow as the lost person and a third with Kevin as a runner. Kevin located himself in one of hundreds of horse stalls on the premises. This proved to be challenging to some of the dogs, with the overwhelming smells and the many stalls to check out.
We also customized the runs for the beginner dogs, making them shorter and less aged.
