We are taking our lakes to a new level! You can still purchase lakes/water features the same way as we have offered in the past. However, you now have another option. You can get it all ready to set in place with no detailing needed! You will see in the pictures here, that foliage, rocks, trees, and logs have already been put in place so you are ready to go. These detailed lakes will only be available at shows. Check them out at our next show at the New Berlin Model Train Swap this Sunday, April 23rd from 9:00 - 1:00. It is located at the OAW Indoor Sports Complex. 5330 S Racine Ave, New Berlin, WI. Hope to see you there.

One of our regular customers shared several pictures with us. Here are just 2 of them. He is using the black lava ultra fine to make a parking lot. He applied an additional light layer to get the "aged look." Job well done! We appreciate customers taking the time to share their projects with us.

March 5th (9:00 - 3:00) The Great Midwest Train Show at the Dupage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL
March 18th & 19th (10:00 - 4:00 both days) The Depot Stove Gang Train Show in Lena, IL at the Lena-Winslow Elementary, Junior & Senior High Schools
March 25th (10:00 - 5:00) & 26th (10:00 - 3:00) National Model RR Association Midwest Region Rock River Valley Division Train Show will be held at Harlem High School located in Machesney Park, IL

Ready for Trainfest? It's happening this weekend at the WI State Fairgrounds in Milwaukee, WI. We are excited to be participating in Trainfest this year. It will be our first year there and we look forward to seeing everyone. Look for our new display! There will be lots to see. Come and join the fun.

We will be back tomorrow at the Great Midwest Train show at the Dupage County Fairgrounds. We missed the October 2nd show due to a family emergency but we will be glad to see everyone again tomorrow. You can also look for us in Dubuque, IA on November 6th and we will be doing our first Trainfest show this year which will be held Nov. 12th & 13th in Milwaukee. Hope to see you there!

Here's another peek at the night operations on the Superior Scenics Layout. It's a peaceful night. You can almost hear the crickets. Come see us this Saturday, Sept. 24th at the Green County Model Railroaders show in Monroe WI. The show runs on Saturday and Sunday, however, we will only be there on Saturday. The show will run from 10-4 both days.

Our Story
We started Superior Scenics with the idea of selling evergreen trees. Each tree is hand crafted. We expanded to creating ready made lakes that can be “dropped” into place. We then again expanded into stone products. We live in an area where pink lady quartzite is readily available, so we started with that and have now added many other varieties of stone. Other products have been added to our selection over the years, including farm products and lighting for the modelers.

The lakes come in different colors to represent muddy water, water with algae, crystal blue water, and even frozen, snow covered lakes or ponds. Add your own details and watch your scene change.
Add even more detail with our handcrafted evergreen trees. We provide many different sizes to accomadate different scales. Use these products to enhance your model railroad, doll house, winter or Christmas village, slot cars, farm dioramas and wargames or dioramas. This also makes a great gift for the kids to add to a farm scene. Just use your imagination!
