Edgar began his career at CJ Miller as a laborer, then transitioned to operating a roller, followed by a back dump, and then a dozer. He progressed to become an assistant fine grade foreman and is currently a fine grade foreman. For the last two decades, we have valued his hard work in supporting CJ Miller's successful operations.

Lupe has advanced within our paving division, starting as a laborer and moving through roles such as screw man and roller operator, demonstrating his versatile skills. Over his 20 years he has excelled as a senior paving laborer, progressed to assistant paving foreman, and since 2016, he has been a paving foreman.

We appreciate Lupe's dedication and hard work, which have consistently upheld excellent craftsmanship at CJ Miller!

30 Years Russ Miller!

Russ worked for many years as a fuel and l**e truck driver running to all the jobs fueling up the equipment and greasing them up to run efficiently. He also served as a water truck driver, hauling water to the jobs as needed. Most recently Russ has been serving as our shop assistant for almost ten years now. He helps keep our shops running smoothly and gets equipment out the door quickly by running equipment parts all over Maryland. This ensures our Mechanics have what they need, when they need it.

Thanks, Russ, for the vital part you have in keeping our company running smoothly for 30 years!

HAPPY NATIONAL ASPHALT DAY!

CJ Miller has over 50 years of experience in the Asphalt Industry. Starting in 1970, Miller Asphalt Products, Inc. established a hot mix asphalt production facility in Woodsboro, Maryland. Initially supplying HMA for driveways and farm lanes, founder Buck Miller, focused on advocating the superiority of HMA over the “tar and chip” method used for many municipal and county roads in the area.

In 1979, a second HMA plant was built in Finksburg, MD enabling CJM to pave larger state and county roads. By 1984, the Finksburg location expanded to two HMA plants to meet growing demand while supporting the companies construction business.

In 2016, CJM upgraded the Finksburg plant to enhance asphalt output, efficiency, and sustainability. This upgrade embraced technology-supported production processes, facilitating greater production and storage efficiency, increased use of recycled materials in asphalt mixes, and reduced energy consumption.

Fast forward today, CJM still operates 3 plants and continues to pave the way in the asphalt industry for the Mid Atlantic region.
