I am a therapist and I created this resource as a way of educating kids on what is an emergency and what can wait, especially when it comes to interruptions for WFH parents.
I co taught the most amazing meditation and mindfulness workshop today! I was so humbled by the authenticity and openness of our participants. We engaged in deep breathing, meditation and visualization exercises, and gentle stretching to relax the mind and body. We identified words that spoke to us and what we want to manifest into our lives. We guided participants through journaling exercises and creating mantra keychains. I am so grateful for the incredible contributions from each member of the group, it was nothing short of inspiring. Everyone had different stories, different struggles, and different goals but the love and support in that room was so unifying!

This is my child. My artistic, creative, authentic, trail blazing, highly emotional child. She woke up in a mood today. She was upset about something and decided to lash out at those around her with hurtful words and unkind glares. She decided to push boundaries because she was seeking an outlet. I didn’t have time to work through it with her before getting her brother to school but I knew I didn’t want to send her to school in this frame of mind because I want to ensure that she is set up for success.
She was still in a mood when I got back, but rather than respond with anger, disappointment, frustration, or even just ignoring her, I said “I’m going to make myself some breakfast. If I make you a cup of tea will you come sit with me.”
She turned off the tv and came right over to the counter. We talked about what was really on her mind and we completely changed the trajectory of her morning.
Parenting is tough when these tiny humans respond in explosive ways, but if we can see through the haze of chaos, we can find truly beautiful moments of meaningful connection
I had the most amazing lunch today at Preserve in downtown Annapolis… fermented mushroom and mixed grains
Today I got some amazing news. I was offered representation from a literary agent who is just as passionate about my s*x education and period positive book that I am! Tonight I’m celebrating at the ocean!
I took my kids to a local florist and told them to create their own bouquet from the DIY stem bar. Flowers are such a creative conduit for self expression. This colorful arrangement is just as eclectic and loud as they are. I love it!
Out of all the roles I fill in life … mom is one of the most beautiful.
