Railroading in from the early 1990s. The roundhouse at the Klamath Falls, Oregon yard. The roundhouse was located just north (railroad east) of the 6th Street viaduct.
Also pictured is Amtrak #11 and #14, which run between Seattle and Los Angeles, with General Motors EMD F40PH units on the head end. Photographed along Highway 97 north of Klamath Falls.

Tim Evinger Archive Collection - 1993 Kodachrome Slide of the Norfolk Southern operation on the now decommissioned Saluda, NC grade. The Saluda Grade was the steepest standard-gauge mainline railway grade in the United States. Average grade was 4.24 percent for 2.6 miles (4.2 km) and maximum was 4.9% for about 300 feet (91 m).

Knott’s Summer Nights 2023 is a perfect time to soak in the sights, sounds, and smells of funnel cakes and steam engines.
D&RGW No. 340 is a C-19 class 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type narrow gauge steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, PA in 1881 for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW). It was sold in 1952 to the Knott's Berry Farm amusement park in Buena Park, CA and has run at the park ever since.

Amazing! I had the opportunity to photograph the historic North Wilkesboro Speedway just 3 short years ago in what I felt was documenting something that was going to be gone forever. Today, NASCAR is holding races in this beautifully restored venue.

USS Missouri “The Mighty Mo” at Pearl Harbor. Serving the United States in war time, including in 1944 in WWII, the Korean War and 1991 in Operation Desert Storm. She’s seen some action, including being hit by a kamikaze pilot and the site of the signing of the instrument of Japanese surrender signed in her deck.
