Good Morning!

Yesterday I posted a notification that one of our LifeSmarts Teams had scored the highest in the National August TeamSmarts Tests! This was not totally correct!

We actually had two (2) winning teams from LMSD! In the Varsity Competition The Money Hounds scored the highest on the Test! In the Junior Varsity one of our two (2) teams score the highest. The Lightning, Grade 8, scored highest in the Junior Varsity Division!!

Great job by all participants!!!

LMSD PROUD!! Keep Smiling!!!

Have a tremendous Friday!!!

Hello from Litchville-Marion School District! LMHS PROUD!

We are now all under one roof and looking forward to many more great activities!

It is time to start planning for our Secret Santa Activity as it will be here very soon! As a recap our Secret Santa Activity includes the following!

We have each student and staff make a list of two (2) or three (3) items they would enjoy receiving as a Christmas gift or more. The elementary students we have write letters to Santa again listing two (2) to three (3) items.
Once we receive the lists from the older students and staff, we do a random draw to decide who they have as a Secret Santa individual.
They receive the envelope with the name of their person and cash to spend on the gift(s) for their person selected.
The juniors and seniors then compile a list by classes of the younger students and prepare for the shopping part of the activity.
All eligible juniors and seniors (and chaperones) then travel to shop for the gifts.
Once purchased we return and wrap the gifts. They are placed under the Christmas tree, hopefully an extra large one in the commons area this year, until the last day prior to Christmas break.
On the last day we all gather and share the gifts and each other's company!
We also have a β€œFIND the Santa” activity looking to locate a Santa each day hidden somewhere in the building and receiving a small prize for the achievement.

At this time I am attempting to secure financial support for this activity. With the growing number costs have risen and I wish to secure the activity for this year and in the future! If you wish to support our activity please do so in the the following manner:

Thank you for any consideration! Happy Holidays in September!

Good Morning from the New Litchville-Marion School!

A few things prior to the opening of the doors tomorrow at LMSD!

First, what a tremendous experience last night seeing and feeling the excitement, pride and commitment to the new facility! The many familiar and new faces experiencing the changes for the first time was such a positive! Personally I have been so blessed to experience a group of communities and people who value each other and the education process so deeply as to create an atmosphere which should propel us deep into the future! Awesomeness!!!
Secondly, the high school staff, have been asked to create a list of supplies needed to start the year. Probably something we should have awhile ago as the elementary staff is a step ahead! So here goes:
1. Early Morning PE:
We will begin Monday in the classroom to develop a personalized portion of the workout! Supplies will be proper physical education clothing and shoes that do not see the outside world! The new gymnasium is a piece of art and we will respect it as such!! NO outside foot ware at anytime we are in the gym for class!! Also, no water or beverages or food inside the gym for the class! A water fountain is right outside the door! Once in the Fitness Center we will set some guidelines together with Mr. Knudson and Mrs. Bowen!!
2. All other classes--Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Mathematics 8, LifeSmarts, ALEKS, and Applied Consumers Mathematics will only need paper and pencils! All rulers, calculators, etc I will attempt to provide! If they need pencils, I have a pencil dispenser in my room but the pencils will cost $.25/pencil. This should remind them to bring their own supplies!?
Lastly, as I watched the pride shown by the visitors last night, please strive to respect the communities, each other, the building and all its staff! The Communities, the School Board, administration, staff, and you the students have made a commitment to the future. ( Mr. Nitschke--yes you!) When you drop that candy wrapper, that hand towel in the bathrooms, or accidentally spill take a second to stop and be that role model. Pick it up, clean it up and help keep it special for the next generation! "LMDS PRIDE" can go a long way!!

See you all very soon --Bring your Smiles!! Let's Rock the Year!!
Keep Smiling!!

PS: If you get a chance go on Instagram and comment on the T-Mobile Friday Night Lights stating some Friday Night Sporting Memories and why the communities could use outside field updates as well as the Fitness Center! Thank You!

Good Morning from LMHS

First, I wish to give a shout out to our Junior Varsity LifeSmarts Team, The Rambling Wreck, who competed in the National Championship last week! We did not reach the semi-finals but the experience will lead to big and better things in the future!

Congratulations to the team members: Vance Waldie, Malea Enger, Signy Holland, Pia Peddycord-Contreras, and Kaleb Karlgaard!

Also, a shout out to Jada Smith and Cikada Kutscher for taking part in the learning and acting as Quiz Masters to prepare the group! Definitely a team effort! Next Year!!

Today, our Stock Market winning teams travel to enjoy some fun time in Fargo as their reward!

Junior High Winners ( Space CHIMPS) included:
Addison Smith, MacKenzie Amerman, Hannah Rufsvold, and Henry Lettenmaier!

The Senior High winning team (3Amigos) ) included: Brayan Karlgaard, Georgia Lettenmaier, and Wyatt Miller. I believe they ended up 41st Nationally out of over 1500 teams!

Also, Camp Confidence at the Confidence Learning Center , will take place June 6-12. I will communicate as we get closer to the activity! Always looking for donations, financial or other, for the trip. This year we are planning events such as fishing, tubing, water parks, movies, bowling, and amusement park as some of our down time activities. We again will do volunteer hours to start each day after a 7:00 am breakfast. Works starts at 8:00 am and runs through 12:30 pm each day! (5:00 am fishing is again on the possible agenda?!) Please reach out with any questions or if you wish to support our activities!

Hopefully, tomorrow begins the school moving process for some of the classrooms! I do not know if the students or myself will be ready for windows and the view of outside! Should be fun!

Keep Smiling and enjoy the day!
